Sydney Harbour site
Hi. I'm a complete ignoramous about things like coordinates, so I can't help you there, but the site is on rock formations at the east end of the beach. That's about all I can tell you. I haven't seen Voyage before, but let me know if you need any help with these places around Sydney and NSW. I know the national parks pretty well, plus Aboriginal sites etc. Have you seen the guide book Walks in the Sydney Harbour National Park? It has plenty of info, and I see it has been heavily used for the WP article.
Are you interested in Aboriginal sites? I've put plenty of material at the Commons categories about Aboriginal sites around NSW.
Sardaka (talk) 08:10, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. And yes, I've always been interested in Aboriginal sites, especially voy:Mungo National Park. And I'll check the guidebook walk soon. Thanks again! SHB2000 (talk) 08:12, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
question
How can you make a file jpeg? ItsJustdancefan (talk) 00:26, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- erm, that's a good question. Unfortunately, I've not been here long enough to know the full answer, but usually, I just go to one of those online png to jpg converters (this one is a decently good one. Go on incognito mode because after 50 conversions it'll ask you to pay. I used to use this for CST projects). Maybe @Ikan Kekek: would know better.
- All the best, SHB2000 (talk) 00:36, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- I don't even understand the question. Are you asking how you turn an existing file into a JPG? I wouldn't know better than SHB2000. I don't participate here as a photographer but as a viewer. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:28, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- I too don't understand either. But I'm assuming what Ikan says "Are you asking how you turn an existing file into a JPG?", you'd want to ask an admin here who for the most part, would be interested in photography and as a side result, file types. SHB2000 (talk) 02:30, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- Also, ItsJustdacefan, you have more experience than me on commons. I've only about 350, and most of them are en or fr wikivoyage banners on croptool. SHB2000 (talk) 02:31, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
Autopatrol given
Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you.--- FitIndia Talk ✉ 18:32, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks :) SHB2000 (talk) 21:57, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Rollback right given
I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Commons:Rollback. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Jianhui67 T★C 02:57, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Jianhui67: Thanks :) SHB2000 (talk) 06:50, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
Welcome, Dear Filemover!
Hi SHB2000, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.
rubin16 (talk) 05:25, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! SHB2000 (talk) 05:33, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
Deletion of my images:
I understand my images were non-educational, but the link you sent me clearly says I can upload a small number of images for personal use on my user page and subpages on a project.
P.S. If artistic work is my own, am I allowed to upload it?
Thanks again, Elytrian (talk) 15:42, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- You are allowed, but I'd recommend you upload it locally to simple (using w:simple:Special:Upload.) It's because sometimes these are misleading. SHB2000 (talk) 22:12, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
File move
Just to mention that my file, which you have just moved with the justification "Canadian spelling" (which is btw is not a valid reason for the file move) has been linked externally, and the links do not work after the move. I will have now to get home and spend extra 15 minutes of my life to update the links, whereas the move was completely unnecessary.--Ymblanter (talk) 13:06, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Because it doesn't make sense to have the incorrect spelling, and was thus not unnecessary and is valid under reasoning 3. I've done some moves from "Victor Harbour" to "Victor Harbor" or "Sydney Harbor" to "Sydney Harbour" because of the spelling as that affects they keyword search and even requested for moves for cases like this and it was accepted. SHB2000 (talk) 13:10, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- "Harbor" is a perfectly correct spelling, and, after all, this is MY photograph. I myself would not accept the move. And, again, you created unnecessary work for me, which now I have to do.--Ymblanter (talk) 13:13, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- "Harbor" is only correct in countries where they use US spelling + the Australian state of South Australia. Canada does not fall into either of those categories. SHB2000 (talk) 13:15, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- I was thinking whether I should take the flag down from your account or take you to the noticeboard, Let us go to the noticeboard first.--Ymblanter (talk) 13:17, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/User problems#SHB2000 and unnecessary moves--Ymblanter (talk) 13:23, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Responded. As I said, I apologise for arguing over one letter, it is a dialect, not a language. SHB2000 (talk) 13:39, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Renaming Criterion #4
SHB2000, I've just fixed the File:Hybrid flag of Libya (1977).svg after renaming bugs. Besides, you shouldn't rename this file, I think. Look at the references to Criterion #4: "Just because images share a category does not mean that they are part of a set. There are two scenarios that this criterion is designed for. First, certain complex templates (such as those that use BSicons or that display football kits) assume that the images used in them will follow a specific naming convention. Wikisource also uses a specific naming convention for the source files they transcribe. Second, files that form parts of a whole (such as scans from the same book or large images that are divided into smaller portions due to Commons’ upload size restriction) should follow the same naming convention". In majority of cases, Criterion #4 is for templates and Wikisources only. Have a nice day :) Wieralee (talk) 12:45, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- I see. Wasn't aware of it. Thanks for letting me know though :) SHB2000 (talk) 12:50, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Images
I have some photographs shot by my camera itself. But I can't see the images. The reason shown is "not supported". Sizes are only 7mb Or 8 mb. Will it be seen if I upload at Commons? Haoreima (talk) 10:04, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Haoreima: To be quite frank, I'm not too sure to be honest. You might get a better answer at the help desk since I haven't used a camera in a really really long time. SHB2000 (talk) 10:08, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hey SHB2000! Can you do cropping an image for me for I don't have good knowledge of documentation for the new file? Haoreima (talk) 10:17, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Which image do you want me to crop. I'll be happy to do that for you. SHB2000 (talk) 10:18, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oh I am sorry to tell you lately. Here is the file c:File:The Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri K.K. Mittal addressing at the inauguration of the 'Poubi Lai-The Story of a Giant Python', Single object exhibition mounted by the Indira Gandhi Manav Sanghralaya (IGRMS).jpg. I want only the dragon portion. Haoreima (talk) 17:34, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Haoreima: Done. Sorry for not responding earlier. See File:The Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri K.K. Mittal addressing at the inauguration of the 'Poubi Lai-The Story of a Giant Python', Single object exhibition mounted by the Indira Gandhi Manav Sanghralaya (IGRMS) (cropped).jpg. If you want that file renamed to something more descriptive, let me know. SHB2000 (talk) 08:18, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- If possible, please change it to File:POUBI LAI.jpg! This dragon is called Poubi Lai. Haoreima (talk) 09:42, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Haoreima: Done. On another note, it's actually pretty easy to use the CropTool, and there's a good explanation on how to use it at Commons:CropTool. I first thought it was hard as well, but it turned out not. SHB2000 (talk) 09:49, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you, dude! I will definitely try that from the next time. In fact, talking with experienced editors is more helpful than just searching for guidelines and policies by myself! :) Haoreima (talk) 09:52, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Haoreima: I actually didn't know about CropTool myself as well until another experienced editor told me as well. (on another note, there's no Manipuri/Meitei translation for that page) SHB2000 (talk) 09:58, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me about the lack of Meitei/Manipuri translation. I will add it as soon as possible. I don't know where shall I find the list of all those guideline and policy pages, because I want all of them to be translated into Meitei step by step, slowly but all. Haoreima (talk) 10:04, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Usually a list of policies can be found at Category:Commons policies and a list of guidelines can be found at Category:Commons guidelines. But one of the most important policy pages; COM:CSD unusually doesn't have a Meitei translation (and it's missing a translation to even Malay and Thai). SHB2000 (talk) 10:10, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, habibi! :) for providing me good information. I will definitely translate every possible pages one by one into Meitei/Manipuri. Translating them will even boost my knowledge about the policies and guidelines. Oh, you mentioned Thai! I really love it. Because we, Meiteis and Thais, share a common interest in dragon worshipping. I really love Malaysians too! :) Haoreima (talk) 14:41, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- AFAIK, dragon culture has been a big part throughout Asia (although I'm not sure about the Middle East. I've only been there once on flight transit so don't know). Although not in my neighbourhood, if I go a couple of kilometres, it gets decorated with dragon banners for Lunar New Year. SHB2000 (talk) 06:34, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Arrowsmith
Hmm youre lucky I have been considering taking it down for a range of reasons
I also havent got back onto voyage for quite a while -might need some heavy help phabricator/tech/weirdness tasks to get back in - there are loops in loops of being locked out
So I will probably be back on voyage by the new year, I hope
Take care when extracting my images - some are due to be taken down... well worth asking first!
cheers JarrahTree (talk) 08:24, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @JarrahTree: Sorry for a little late response. I'll take note of that. But if you don't know already, as of 22:00 yesterday, all Australian articles have become usable. I know you've created a large number of articles, and it's really appreciated. Feel free to join the celebration here (if you can manage to get your account to work) SHB2000 (talk) 08:48, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
- nah - unable in the short term to access from point of view of an editor at voyage - otherwise that sounds like good news! JarrahTree (talk) 09:01, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

I think your Christmas will be a Summer Christmas as you are in Australia🇦🇺🐨🦘! :) For we, the Northern Hemisphereans, ours is a cool Christmas! :-) Haoreima (talk) 07:07, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Haoreima Hey Haoreima, Merry Christmas to you as well :) Yeah it certainly will be a summer Christmas for me although I've spent Christmas in the northern hemisphere before (one in Kerala, one in Singapore and the other in the US). The former two didn't really feel cool at all, but the last one certainly did :-). I'm sure a Christmas in Manipur would be a lot cooler compared to neighbouring Bangladesh given that the elevation of Manipur is much higher than the surrounding areas (except the north, but...)
- And on another note, all the letters in voy:Manipuri phrasebook seem to suddenly come up for me. It seemed all that was needed was to change my computer language from English (Australia) to English (UK) and a software update. SHB2000 (talk) 07:46, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- In Manipur, all places are cool and snowy, except Jiribam and Moreh. Well, do you mean you can see the Meitei fonts and typefaces when you change your language preference? Haoreima (talk) 07:51, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah I had to change my computer language settings and also do a software update. It seemed to do the job. It used to come up for me when on my desktop, but not on my laptop (which is quite old). SHB2000 (talk) 07:53, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

- Then, I think computer manufacturing companies are supporting Meitei fonts little by little. I am happy to hear this news! :) Haoreima (talk) 09:00, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah it's nice to see more and more languages being supported. I can also see Burmese script now as well which I also couldn't see on my laptop before. SHB2000 (talk) 09:02, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

- That's also a matter of great surprise to me that Burmese (a language and it's script already supported by Google Translate, that's universal) wasn't supported by some computers. I hope Meitei and other languages might also get their place in GT, they are currently in GT beta custody. Lol! :) :-) Haoreima (talk) 09:07, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- And Burmese is also the official language of a country. I do wonder when will Google Translate support Tibetan though. SHB2000 (talk) 09:09, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oh I just checked it now. I saw Tibetan in the beta platform! Very lucky! It has 163,000 total contributions as of today's report. It uses its own script in the beta validation. The main exceptional problem in Meitei is the appearance of both Meitei and Bengali script in beta validation, but only Bengali in beta translation. Only if Meitei script or both the scripts in both the Beta validation as well as translation might be satisfactory, like we saw in case of Japanese accepting both Chinese as well as Japanese scripts. :) Haoreima (talk) 09:15, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
