Please stop rotating my image

This bot keeps rotating my image https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:GudeaName.jpg. How can I stop it? Ramessos (talk) 20:16, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Zunkir, requested the rotation, adding the {{Rotate}} template with this edit. Adding {{Rotate}} triggers this bot, so if you just revert back to an old revision of a file, don't add the template again. -- Rillke(q?) 10:58, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Why Rotatebot doesn't execute my requests for photo rotation?

  • If a map originally has not the north on top, the headline is upright if the west or east is on top, but many others texts are upright if north is on top, it is useful to present is with the north on top.

In the position, I loaded it up, headline and intrduction are turned by 90°, but part of the other inscriptions are upright.
After Tuválkin's turn, headline and introduction were upside down.
In the discussion of the file, from the beginning, I proposed to load it up in a horizontal version, alternatively. As up to now the only article on this subject is in German, I've written this proposal in german, too, unfortunately.--Ulamm (talk) 21:34, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
(Added later:) You say that in this map as you uploaded, «headline and intrduction are turned by 90°, but part of the other inscriptions are upright». Well, that’s not the whole truth, is it? The main text of the map, including its title, byline, explanation, scales, and most toponyms are correctly readable only after the rotation I suggested (now here), while as you uploaded that main text is going from bottom to top, some minor text is correctcly readable, and some other minor text is even upside down. -- Tuválkin ✉ 01:21, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
My mistake, I should have asked for 90°, not −90° — please all accept my apologies.
Indeed, the main text of the map clearly shows what is the intended orientation; having a version pointing at north (if at all necessary) should be the afterthought, but we have both now, anyway.
I still wonder why Ullam thinks users should til their heads to read the map and how he proposes to rotate maps of the Sothern Pole (I suspect the quality of the answer will be at the same cognitive level as «We need a one-image gallery page showing it in full resolution so that users dont have to download the image to their PCs.»…) -- Tuválkin ✉ 22:02, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Our guideline ought to be the visitors' comfort. I haven't called it a gallery. Neither the rule for galleries nor any other rule forbids such a presentation file. It is a basic principle of democratic communities, that you need no permition for things that are not forbidden.--Ulamm (talk) 22:44, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Guy, fill your mouth with democracy as much as you want but that wont change two things:
  1. That the technical rationale your’re harping is unbelievably unbased, down to a k-12 level of basic computer useage; and
  2. that you started this by harassing JuTa, calling vandalism his routine cleanup operation.
While 1. would normally give you a lot of slack, as our projects accept people with a wide range of skills and learning abilities, 2. means you wish this to be treated with baby gloves off, and now I sure hope it will be. -- Tuválkin ✉ 01:21, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Concerning 100% resolution, I really had a mental block. As you can see from my last edits, I've overcome it.
Nevertheless
  • it is an awful tyranny to forbid his fellows acts and installations that are not prohibited by any convention.
  • it is a major faux pas to make an HTML-file disfunct, during a current discussion about its deletion.

IDSA logo rotated

Dear Rotatebot, You rotated our logo. The logo is supposed to be on it's side. I'm reverting it back. Here I was thinking that I somehow posted the wrong logo way back when. We've had lots of debates over the logo but it was designed to be on it's side and the society wants to go back to making that the standard and pushing people to no longer use the upright version ever. 2014-06-13T20:41:36‎ (talk · contribs)

Rotatebot rotated the image because User:Axolotl Nr.733 thought that the image needed rotation. If it currently has the correct orientation, then no further rotation is needed. --Stefan4 (talk) 11:54, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Offline for four days now

I know the message says "Toolserver has hiccups. Bot is working on and off." But it's now 4 days since the bot last rotated an image.

Is this really the toolserver problem? (The toolserver reports being up and available). Or did I feed the bot an image that has broken it? Jheald (talk) 19:22, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Rotation 90 or 180

I requested rotation 90 in File:Casa Jaume Estrada (Barcelona) 2013-09-27 18-46-27.jpg but it got rotated by 180º. Is there a problem? Should I request rotate again?--Pere prlpz (talk) 14:40, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

See edit summary of the bot: EXIF had major errors. Great parts of EXIF could be lost. These erroneous Exif information likely caused the bot not properly detecting the current orientation or an orientation different from that that MediaWiki detected. -- Rillke(q?) 16:03, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
