Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement

Worst Painter

[edit]

Could you please explain this?! Marcus Cyron (talk) 16:54, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Marcus Cyron: Can you? Resident Mario (talk) 04:02, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Again: why do you have removed this correct Category? Simple question. There must be a cause and I would like to know this cause. If there's no cause, it was vandalism. Marcus Cyron (talk) 09:54, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I am really tempted to be snide in the hopes that you'd exact poor judgement becoming of your overly enthusiastic questioning and block me. But, no, this appears to be a thing. I suggest you email them to ask what is with their choice of name. Resident Mario (talk) 18:37, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes @Marcus Cyron: Resident Mario (talk) 18:37, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know, why he has this Name. This artist also have an article at de:Wikipedia. It is a Notname. There are thousands of them. This is one of ca. 1500 Notnames the famous Archaeologist and researcher of ancient vases, John D. Beazley, has given to unknown artists. There is a wide spread system of different names. And he gave this name to the in his opinion worst artist in this field. But at the end it is only a help to classify unknown artists. It is frustrating, when people come and change things they don't understand. Real frustrating. Marcus Cyron (talk) 19:28, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Picture removed from article

[edit]

The mountain comparison SVG was removed from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_mountains_in_the_Solar_System because it is mis-leading. The height of Mauna Kea should be listed (like as in the table) based on base to peak, not sea-level to peak. Please fix. It will continue to be removed until then if attempted to be re-added.

66.190.94.33 04:19, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well...you've been reverted...so I guess the status quo continues. Resident Mario (talk) 19:30, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The individual who reverted it. WoflmanSF, did say that it should be improved but still adds value, so you should probably still make the adjustments if you have the time available. Quote: "it only shows base-to-sea-level for Everest; it would be nice to have it improved, but I think most readers can figure out what is going on, and it still adds value to the article". He also added notes in the captions to that effect in subsequent updates. 66.190.94.33 23:48, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@66.190.94.33: I looked into it again and I don't see the issue here, Kea is 4,205 m in terms of elevation above sea level, and Everest is 8,848 m. Resident Mario (talk) 02:16, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide some more information where you took this screenshot. Is this a Wikipedia template? Also, if thas was first published in 2011 on some Wiki you are apparently not the copyright holder and you cannot grant your own licence for the image. De728631 (talk) 18:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@De728631: You should delete it, I turned out not to need it. Resident Mario (talk) 18:24, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I zapped it. For future reference, please use {{Wikimedia-screenshot}} as a licence for Wikipedia and other WMF screenshots. De728631 (talk) 18:28, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I only needed it for a quick test and didn't feel like finding the right template for Wiki screenshots right away. :) Resident Mario (talk) 18:31, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
