iNaturalist files
[edit]Hi Qwexcxewq - thanks for adding File:Indochinesecuckooshrike.jpg from iNaturalist under its creative commons license! Please remember though, iNaturalist files include location data relevant to the file; it is essential that this is included in the file documentation as it is important data. I have added it now; have a look at the file's history to see the changes I made, for tips for future uploads. I'll also rename the file to make the filename more informative. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 13:16, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
An unfree Flickr license was found on File:Lea Park Bridge.jpg

- Hi Adeletron 3030, I thought that Wikimedia and Wikipedia would fall under Non commercial and non derivative. I'm so sorry about this. I have sent an appeal to the Flickr user. Should I remove it from the Wikipedia page that it appears on? Qwexcxewq (talk) 20:13, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- No need to apologize - it happens quite a bit. You don’t have to remove it right now, especially if you’ve contacted the Flickr user (commenting on the image page might help too). Anyway, the reason non-derivative/non-commercial licenses aren’t allowed is because there are no restrictions on how users can do with Wikipedia content (and a non-derivative license wouldn’t allow cropping or combining with other images, etc).
