Rename criteria

If you check the criteria for {{Rename}} you should note that it does not include up inconsequential typos, and you will see that the criteria gives examples of significant typos. Encouraging such renames for the inconsequential are not that necessary, and are better off being rejected.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:04, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

@Billinghurst: You must be refereing this. Anyway an error is always an error. You can't call biuldling and bilding different. Both are errors. Well @Tambo: See this diff Also see at the rename request box there's a line saying This request is incomplete! You need to provide a value between 1 and 7 which corresponds to the file renaming criteria!. So put a valid rename request with a valid criteria. Changing a redirect

Hello Pratyya Ghosh, i would like to ask a clarification concerning the recent rename procedure, made by yourself [1] following my request: in order to complete the fix of file names: can i change the redirect "neutral location map Israel" to the main file "location map Israel", or there is some procedure required on redirects? Maybe putting some note at the redirect talk page and see if there are other opinions?Greyshark09 (talk) 20:36, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Because of this discussion, evolved after disputed changes made by now banned user. He had tried to change all maps of Israel without community agreement, but still many maps are pointing to "neutral Israel location map" (now redirected to Green Line borders), while originally it should have been "Israel location map" file.Greyshark09 (talk) 21:03, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

This is a weird change. Since "Neutral Israel location map.svg" was changed to "Israel location map (Green Line borders).svg", it makes no sense to now change the redirect of that file to "Israel location map.svg". Why not keep the redirect to the name it was changed from? Maps are still linked to "Israel location map (Green Line borders).svg" and by the way, user Sepsis II is not banned and I don't see how that matters. --IRISZOOM (talk) 12:00, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
