Nice to see you here

Wonderful
[edit]Peacay, you've done wonderfully. One thing you can do in addition to creating categories is to create galleries (e.g., Gustave Doré) to organize (and optionally caption) each thumbnail in a set. It's useful for sets where order or subcategorization matters. Also, when you link to a Wikipedia article, you can use the prefix "w:" and create a wikilink rather than an external link: "Doré" results in Doré. Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 19:44, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

more precisions on an Ethiopian icon
[edit]Hello,
I was wondering if you have more information about this icon
Metadata says:
Description University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History, Shelf Mark 10-844 - Ethiopian biblical manuscript Date 20th century Source Hill Museum & Manuscript Library
Author Unknown author
But, do you have full reference of the manuscript that holds this icon? Where was it originally kept? Is this really 20th C.?
Thanks a lot,
Jnyssen (talk) 15:53, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
It's 13 years ago. The only thing I can do for you is point you to the blog post I put together out of which the image you are interested in derives. http://bibliodyssey.blogspot.com/2007/11/ethiopian-manuscripts.html
Good luck.
