Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

File:Mimi Chakraborty .jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

File copyright status
[edit]Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Эlcobbola talk 15:02, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello Neogi007.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |

Your account has been blocked
[edit]Block duration relates to the following:
- 07:03, 16 May 2020 - You uploaded File:Mimi Chakraborty .jpg, which was deleted as a COM:NETCOPYVIO;
- 14:54, 21 May 2020 - You uploaded File:Mimi Chakraborty.jpg, the same image, which was again deleted;
- 16:01, 21 May 2020 - You asked for explanation of those deletions and purport to have the subject's (not author's) permission;
- 16:13, 21 May 2020 - I explained what would be necessary to host the image (including that the actual photographer's watermark appears on the image);
- 16:19, 21 May 2020 - You asked on en.wiki for that image to be uploaded on your behalf, this time from a just-created Flickr account;
- 20:00, 22 May 2020 - I explained that what you are attempting is Flickr-washing, and your request was denied;
- 06:53, 25 May 2020 - You asked on en.wiki again, and were denied again;
- 00:41, 06 June 2020 - You asked on en.wiki again, this time referencing the same Flickr-washing account (your account) and the same image, only with the photographer's watermark cropped out (!!!); your request was again denied;
- 12:19, 13 June 2020 - You upload a new copyright violation.
This series of events suggests that you are attempting to misrepresent copyright status deliberately and that you know our licensing requirements related to Internet images and are disregarding them deliberately. Accordingly, your block length is indefinite (where indefinite is not finite) because this is an issue that requires a very good explanation, rather than an arbitrary period of time, if you are to resume editing here.
