Copyright status: File:Manger lid.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Manger lid.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Upload errors
[edit]Hello National Library, I was looking at your uploads in Category:Dan Hadani collection and it looks like there was some serious issue with image-metadata misalignment resulting in incorrect file titles and descriptions. See for example the following images and their descriptions:
-
A joung invalid boy playing soccer
-
A new mosaic for the new Knesset building in Jerusalem
-
Celebrations on Mt. Miron, Tzfat
-
The Western Wall
-
Tiberia - Lake Kinneret
I am not sure how you are planning to fix it, but I would suggest deleting unused images and re-uploding. Let me know if you need any admin help. --Jarekt (talk) 18:05, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Jarekt, We are aware of the mistake (the lists got mixed up), and would like to reload the materials with the correct metadata. We would be happy if you could please assist us with erasing all the materials uploaded under our user on January 16th - a total of 630 pictures. We will then reload them with the corrected metadata. Thank you. --Nachum Zitter Librarian (talk) 12:32, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- I see User:Geagea is also working on this, so let me ping him @Geagea: . I think that might not be a good idea to delete all the files as many are fine, like this one and other already did a lot of work categorizing them and improving descriptions. I would propose to create Category:Dan Hadani collection with wrong descriptions and place all the files with bad descriptions there. Than me (or other admin) can delete those and you can see what is left and exclude them from the future uploads. Would that work? --Jarekt (talk) 13:02, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- I am following this process. Some problem occurred during the transfer. They are tring to understand what was the problen. I made this list for that and will take care all the problems. Category:Dan Hadani collection with wrong descriptions. -- Geagea (talk) 13:20, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- I am inclined to just delete all uploads with bad descriptions, so people do not waste their time adding them the the articles and categorizing them. I looked through files with english filenames and sorted bad ones into Category:Dan Hadani collection with wrong descriptions. User:Geagea, maybe you can add more files to that category based on your list and than we can delete the category. --Jarekt (talk) 14:00, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

In my opinion it would be better to delete and reload all the images because many of them a correct title but a mistaken description (Ori Yaamin).
- Ok Ori Yaamin. I tend to delete all those files except the few that already in use. When you upload the files again we will what to do with them. Before you uploading the files please send me the EXEL files to my mail. I'll made some modifications. I'll be busy for a couple of days so will take care the deletion tomorrow. Don't hesitate to contact me by mail. Ranl-WMIL for your notification as well. -- Geagea (talk) 08:10, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
