PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
[edit]If you are here to ask me for the sources of Images I uploaded 2/3 years ago, please don't because I don't remember.
You can delete the Images, if you think that is the best.
But please don't spam this page with pointless threats
Cheers, muriel@pt 13:04, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Here's a better idea: I downloaded the image, resized it, and uploaded it again with the same filename. It overwrites the old image. If you look at the Image history on the image page, you see my new version with 315787 bytes. No need to delete the image. The original version is still available if you click on the link 19:50, 13 Nov 2004. BTW, on some browsers you may have to click CTRL-reload to clear the old image from the cache. Also, if you want a page deleted, add the {{delete}} tag and a reason, and an admin will delete the image/page/category/... within the next few days if the reason is good. -- Chris 73 12:40, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
England
[edit]I get the same non-results. A few pages with "england" in the body of the text, but not the England in the title pages. Not sure why, but the Wiki search was always a bit sketchy for my feeling -- Chris 73 11:18, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Paintings
[edit]Hi Muriel, when uploading paintings, you might want to search the Web Gallery of Art. They have a huge collection of high-resolution files. (I just replaced some images by Hans Holbein the Younger) --Stw 23:41, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Big Splash
[edit]Hi Muriel, this is Marvel again. I don't know how, but I lost your Mail-Adress, so I use this way.
This is the first version of the Big Splash animation. (Sorry for the wrong image-name: "Big Slash". I don't know how to change the name. Maybe you can change it.)
Sorry, that I needed so much time, but school was very hard in the last days.
Yes... please say, wheather you have Ideas to incrase the animation (I hope that you have) and say, which text or arrows or lines I should include. Thanks.
Cheers, Marvel.
Oh...yes. Thanks for this great referenzes, but I think there is missing some text. Don't you think? Or don't you want me to ask you everytime? Thats understandable! no problem say something!

- Hi Muriel,
- Thanks for the great gifs. We're looking at the south pole, though, which means that Theia is forming at L5, not at L4 (I imagine it doesn't really matter which it is). I was going to relabel the static gif, but thought it might be better if you did it.
Would you mind? Kwami 19:03, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Nightingale
[edit]Hallo, I noticed that you uploaded this image Image:Florence Nightingale.png stating as source the noelcollection which doesn't allow commercial use... I found the same image here [1] where every image is PD. Do you mind if I change the source and add a PD template? Let me know... :-D Ciao --Civvi 09:14, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Muriel ! As far as I know it seems to work. When I click on sturgeon, it is redirected to Category:Acipenseridae. And *you* did it, in the history page ... so it's probably a cache problem for your browser :) villy ♦ ✎ 09:50, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
Keep original images!
[edit]please always transfer the original big images from wikipedias, not only the previewimages, as you did with Image:800px-Slak 01.jpg. So put the original quality with the original file name to the commons and write "delete" in your 800px upload. thx -- Javier 217.237.151.235 30 June 2005 14:43 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:AfonsoVIPortugal.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:AfonsoVIPortugal.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. This picture needs to be fixed. In that tree is missing Ptolemy XIII. and Ptolemy XV. is there twice. I would fix it by myself but I do not know if the missing Ptolemy XIII. is there as Ptolemy XIV. (and the second Ptolemy XV. is supposed to be Ptolemy XIV.) or if the Ptolemy XIII. is there as the second Ptolemy XV.
Niusereset 8.III. MMIX, 12:12 CET
There maybe is another mistake: Ptolemy VII is the son of Cleopatra II and Ptolemy VI (see Grant 1990, p. 374)
Permission to use Moringa Image
[edit]Hello,
We are a small company looking into developing a Moringa brand. In researching for images, we came across yours and we would like to use it with your permission.
Would it be possible to make an arrangement for us to have exclusive rights to use it for our marketing pieces? If it can’t be exclusive, we would be interested in just having permission to use your photo.
Is this the highest resolution available? If you have this photo available with a higher resolution, please let us know. Also, we would be interested if you have any additional images with Moringa.
We would plan on using your image for web, brochures, presentations, and educational/promotional materials. We’re not sure how long we would be using the image for, perhaps a couple years.
Please give us a price you have in mind for us to use your photo. We would also give you a photo credit if/when we use your image(s).
You can reach me at earce@alchemicalcourtyard.com.
Thank you for your time.

Please help replace this outdated license
[edit]Hello!
Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license {{PD}}. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.
The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.
Thank you for your help. If you need help feel free to ask at Commons talk:Licensing or contact User:Zscout370.
The images we would like you to check are:

File tagging File:Lago_de_Atitlan.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Lago_de_Atitlan.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Muriel Gottrop. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Muriel Gottrop~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation

Copyright status: File:Aljubarrota-en.png
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Aljubarrota-en.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too.
