Two pictures in one
[edit]I happened to upload two pictures with the same name, using the UploadWizard. Can I delete and try again? The file is Vespula germanica-s.jpg. Magne Flåten (talk) 14:28, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
Otiorhynchus
[edit]Hi Magne Flåten, as I am not specialist. Only an amateur entomologist, as well as a desparate contaminated plants owner.... Can you help me to categorise files of Category:Otiorhynchus ? My personal starving hostes beeing those 2 coleopteras. They belong most probably to Otiorhynchus sulcatus specise, but I need a second advice before renaming, because I would like to avoid confusion to further users. Weevils are so similar for a human eye ! --Salix (talk) 14:31, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- I believe all pictures under "this year host" are from the same individ. This is Otiorhynchus sulcatus.
The animal under "last year host" is not Otiorhynchus sulcatus. The pictures ar not good enough for me to decide which specie this is, I am not well enough familiar with the weevils in France if these pictures at from that area. But if the femur (thigh) does not have a weak tooth on its underside, it might be Otiorhynchus scaber. But again, the pictures are not good enough to decide, I can not see the hairs and other small structure, so the best here is to set for Otiorhynchus sp. also unidentified Otiorhynchus. Magne Flåten (talk) 15:15, 6 November 2014 (UTC)- Yes Magne Flåten, this is only one individ of each year, but found on the same flower pot. Sorry for the quality, but on the first year I was not aware of the danger for my plants roots. However, you have the same doubts as me, and I will not categorise the first one with the second one. Thanks for your help. --Salix (talk) 19:19, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:72275737 africa lions 624 v6.gif. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:72275737 africa lions 624 v6.gif]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
