Hello, I added the source information. The author remains unknown but that picture is at least 118 years old since he died in 1889. Should you reply to me, could you please do so on my french talk page. Thank you! Ugo14 09:02, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Please reconsider your vote in light of three new comparisons
[edit]Sorry to bring this to your talk page. But I believe that this is a pretty serious matter. If you just compare the first two of [1] They are identical and have merely been slightly re-arranged. Megapixie 05:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Licence tag
[edit]You tagged a picture of mine (Image:AB Beslan Mother.jpg) as "This image is missing permission information" but the picture has this on it: "The permission for use of this work has been archived in the Wikimedia OTRS system (2007072310013613). Please contact a person with an account on the system to confirm the permission." So which is it? Has the picture sufficient permission info? In addition the link in the picture has this information: "This photo is public" Rune X2 17:10, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Deletion of pictures
[edit]You have deleted a number of pictures I had uploaded after I had taken some considerable work into getting permission from the creator and before I had any chance to reply to your deletion. I don't come by here every day or every week. Don't you think it would have been a good idea to let me try to answer the concerns before rushing to delete them?

In addition all the pictures said I had permission from the creator. So one might have assumed good faith and waited a resonable time for reply.Rune X2 17:20, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Would you say that KSR International vs. Teleflex is relevant here? I would think that a 3-view is for a »person having ordinary skill in the art« obvious... --FSHL 00:07, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Image deletion warning | Image:Necromouse.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

- Why on earth did you muck with that image to lower the resolution? I'm trying to think of an answer other than deliberate vandalism. Perhaps you can explain? Wondering, -- Infrogmation 00:40, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. What was the URL for the high-res source of this image that you recently uploaded:
And what is the URL for the page that introduces the photo also? I want to bookmark both. I am interested in the history that the Library of Congress has on the photo.
Is there a high-res version of the original unedited version of the image that we can upload to

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:56, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

File:Necromouse.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
