Airport maps

[edit]

Yeah, amazing work....don't know how else to share, except by adding here, sooooooo....as with below, the LAX map should have Saudi Arabia shaded in....you're the best! Bob Dineen (alamobob17@gmail.com)

Hi. Thanks for all the work you've done creating the destination maps: it's good stuff. However, someone has pointed out that the map File:Heathrow_Airport_Destinations.svg has an error: Thailand has not been coloured (but should be), while Burma=Myanmar has been coloured (but should not be). It's probably easier for you to fix this than anybody else! Regards, --RFBailey (talk) 17:08, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed :-) --Macadamia1472 (talk) 03:52, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. File IAD Destinations.svg has an error. Please shade in Spain since UA has non-stop service from IAD to MAD. Shakbok (talk) 14:32, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Inspired by your work, I created a map for Düsseldorf Airport weeks ago and placed it above the related table about passenger destinations in the same paragraph. Is that wrong? There's user hidden behind an IP moving the map in a seperate paragraph with no additional informations. He did that with a couple of your maps, too (MUC, HAM etc.). From my point this is wrong - on Wikipedia and in academic work in general - as the map is visualizing the tables content and is therefor to be placed in the same paragraph. Correct? I'm still a little uncertain with all the Do's and Dont's at Wikipedia and so I did it your way weeks ago. Maybe I could use a little help. Thanks so far. --AviNation (talk) 23:35, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Macadamia1472, I checked your map of Indira Gandhi International Airport destinations on Wikipedia Commons. It seems little outdated (for example, Kenya is longer served). Please upload a fresh (updated) one as it is required for the Delhi airport article to show countries served from the airport. --M.soumen (talk) 17:14, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Macadamia1472, I love your work, that's some good stuff...So I just wanted to ask you how to do a map like those you did. Is there like a site or something?... I'd like to do maps of various airports and airlines if you could just tell me how. --Bluetree777380 (talk) 15:30, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello , how can I create such an airline route map here on wiki ? Similar to the one posted of LHR. Can't seem to find it.. Thanks in advance :) --Evergreen09 (talk) 18:14, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you update the AMS/Schiphol map, according to the wiki page? Please add: Sint Maarten, Macedonia, Montenegro, Belgium, Luxembourg, Kuwait, Armenia, Senegal, Sri Lanka Please remove: Kosovo, Albania, Maldives, Nepal — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 31.161.105.18 (talk) 09:38, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

WikiProject Aviation now on Twitter

[edit]

Hi, as mentioned here, Commons:WikiProject Aviation is now on Twitter. I will be using the feed to tweet photos from our now extensive repository of aviation imagery, and will also use it for outreach activities. If you have any suggestions on how to get the maximum use out of Twitter feel free to leave suggestions on the Aviation project talk page. You can follow the account at http://www.twitter.com/commonsaviation. Cheers, russavia (talk) 14:10, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Airport maps

[edit]

Hi, I just noticed you did several very cool maps of airport destinations. I downloaded the blank map, but don't know of to colour the countries. What software did you use to do that? Unless you wouldn't mind doing a map for Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Thanks in advance. Mtlfiredude (talk) 14:07, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MarrickLip! Is it possible for you to make a map of all the destinations served by Denver International Airport (DEN)? Thanks!

Your LGW Destinations map

[edit]

Hi MarrickLip! I saw your map of London Gatwick destinations and I think it's great! But, it should also have India, Costa Rica, Nigeria and the Czech Republic all shaded as they are served directly by the airport. I've asked at the help desk about this, but I thought it might also be good to ask you as you're the author of the map. Anyway, thank you for your good work! Thank you very much for your update to the map! Seagull123 (talk) 11:55, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
