Okay, cool. It's funny though that WHKLMA's site has the protectorate lasting for 2 years though. Anyway, all it could mean was that it lasted on paper for two years. Sean II 13:05, 11 January 2006
Hi Kaveh! I was wondering if you would be able to tell me if this article is in Farsi, and if so, what does it say? Should it be deleted? I think probably because it has no images, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks! pfctdayelise (translate?) 00:08, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
BTW-- have you considering becoming an admin on Commons?? I am certain there would be support for you, because we need all the language diversity we can get. :) If you like I can nominate you, or you can do a self-nomination. Let me know. cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 00:10, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- We often run across articles about Iranian/Persian related subjects with missing images, so it would help if someone more intimate with the area helped in tagging/recovering them Well, you don't need to be an admin to do this, usually. I think your value as an admin would be in being a somewhat official contact for Farsi-related content, and especially helping Farsi-speaking users. If another admin (like, me :)) needs some Farsi help, it is good to be able to just check the list of admins and see if there's someone there.
- As for admin, well I would just make 8 more edits. It's surely very easy. :P If you ever want to do any translation, too, there's a mountain of work waiting for you! A good start would be updating صفحهٔ اصلی. For a guide to which pages are important for translating, please read Commons:Help page maintenance (and incidentally, if some of the instructions there aren't clear, please say so -- it's specifically intended to be a guide for translators, so it needs to be clear).
- Anyway, I look forward to seeing your nomination on COM:A soon. :) pfctdayelise (translate?) 15:34, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Administrator
[edit]You are now an administrator here on the Commons. Congratulations! Could you check that your entry on Commons:List of administrators by language is correct? User:dbenbenn 15:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. Yes, it is correct. Just a note, I'll have only sporadic access to the internet for a while. If needs be, I can be contacted via email. Kaveh 17:50, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Kaveh, no rush, but would you mind adding a translation to this? User:Pfctdayelise/Translations. It's only two short lines. Thanks! pfctdayelise (translate?) 10:57, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Commons-l subscription
[edit]Hello Kaveh,
as per Commons talk:Administrators, I am asking all admins to subscribe to commons-l, a mailing list for Wikimedia Commons policy and project discussion. Since many admins are only on Commons infrequently, this is a good way to alert people about important happenings. The mailing list is nominally multilingual, but predominantly English.
If you are already subscribed to commons-l, I apologize for bothering you, and you are free to ignore this message. If you don't want to use your regular e-mail account, feel free to leave me a message, and I can send you a GMail invite. Traffic on the mailing list is relatively low, and we do not expect admins to read all messages to the list, but it would be nice if you could check on it at least every few weeks. Thanks for your time,--Eloquence 23:06, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder Erik. I've registered using a separate gmail account. Kaveh
- So they had changed it. When i had uploadet it was an other licence. So we should delete it. U can see i had copy the original licence. When u look here u can see I had upload it at 12:14, 16. Jul 2006, in the israelian wiki i had use that one u can find the logfiles of the picture in the history so they change the licence. --Japan01 23:42, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ok i thought it was the righzt verrsion i had gave in commons., Could it be that here we can not choose all the licences we have in the different wikipedias? --Japan01 09:41, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thx for ur help. I have a new question i've found in the bosnian one a new picture its here. They say it no copyrighted like the other pics, but can i upload it here? cause perhaps later someone changed the licence and we can't use it here anymore? --Japan01 06:06, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Admin news
[edit]Hello,
If you consent for statistics to be published about your actions as an administrator, please sign here: Commons:Administrator permission for statistics. (I expect that most people will not have a problem with it unless you are especially concerned with privacy.)
Also, please be aware that we now have a Commons:Administrators' noticeboard. Please put it on your watchlist, if you haven't already!
cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 05:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC) P.S.: Pardon if this is a repeat (bot debugging...)

Image Tagging Image:Kebab.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Kebab.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Author of this image
[edit]Dear man,
- You had uploaded this Image to fa.wikipedia before but you hadn't talked about its author and source. Can you solve this problem? because I have uploaded it here but I couldn't define them. thanks.--Soroush83 12:38, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. That image is self-made. Kaveh 06:12, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi! I'm afraid I don't read a word of Farsi, so I don't know whether or not this matter was resolved, but I noticed you dealt with this user before, and I thought I'd let you know this user is once again uploading a large number of images and attributing them to www.sajed.ir in the author parameter of the {{Information}} tag and him- or herself using {{Self}}. —LX (talk, contribs) 08:35, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying me, I'll look into it. Kaveh 22:38, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- The site explicitly says they are distributed under GFDL license. It does not talk about CC. How have they been distributed under a CC license as well?!!! I'll remove CC from them.--Soroush83 11:32, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Image deletion warning | xxxx.gif images have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry. If you created these images, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. If the files are up for deletion because they have been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the files may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new files. |

Administrative notice
[edit]Dear Kaveh. I am writing to you to inform you that because of inactivity, you may lose your adminship on Commons.
Commons has a new policy on admin activity, Commons:Administrators/De-adminship, taken into use on June 13, 2007 (after a two-week poll on the proposed policy's talk page).
If you want to keep your adminship, you have to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days. Note that if you don't make 5 admin actions in the following 5 months, you will then lose the adminship anyways.
Thank you,
abf /talk to me/ 11:18, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
De-Admined
[edit]Hi Kaveh.
Because you have been inactive for a long period and you have not signed at this page in the last month you lost your adminship on Commons (->meta-request). If you want to be sysop again, please start a new RfA.
Thank you for your long and helpfull work on Commons! abf /talk to me/ 12:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

File tagging File:Seawall_Vancouver.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Seawall_Vancouver.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

A request
[edit]Hi. I took this photo of Ryoji Ikeda in Transmediale 2010. Recently, I received complaints from him about the photo being uploaded here. Also, I was informed about the reasons of his concern which I didn't know beforehand. So as a matter of respect to him, I wanted to ask you to remove the photo. Thanks in advance. I do appreciate your help. --Shervinafshar (talk) 08:42, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
