Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. Judea SVG
[edit]Image:Judea3.svg doesn't contain any vector data, just a reference to an image "judea3.bmp.jpg" on your hard drive (but not accessible to anyone else). Image:Judea3.svg appears to contain this raster image (though I haven't downloaded it, as it's greater than 3 MB). Neither one renders in WikiMedia software SVG renderer, and neither one is really acceptable as an SVG upload on Wikimedia Commons. The underlying JPEG file, uploaded as a JPEG, may be acceptable (depending on copyright status). AnonMoos 15:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I downloaded Image:Judea3.svg, and now I can see that it's an actual vector file -- but unfortunately it's a very rough tracing, which faithfully reproduces random variations in line ink width of the printed page that you were scanning from, and is in a gray color. In this form, the image is not that useful here, and may be a coipyright violation... AnonMoos 16:08, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
