Please make changes to Israel-UAE deal worldwide reaction file you uploaded
[edit]Sudan hasn't officially reacted. The spokesman who spoke about the deal was fired for unauthorized comments. Saudi Arabia reacted ambiguously. Malaysia didn't oppose the deal, said it was UAE'a right but Malaysia itself will only seek a deal once a Palestinian state exists.
I have mentioned the reactions of these countries with source on the Wikipedia page of Israel-UAE deal. What I say is true. But I can't make any changes as I'm having trouble uploading anything on Commons. In fact I'm having doing anything including editing on Wikipedia for the last many days. Might be a problem with the company whose internet I use as both Wi-Fi modem and mobile data have issues.
So I an requesting you to make changes please. Change Malaysia and Saudi Arabia's color to red. Change Sudan's color to gray. Thanks. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @LéKashmiriSocialiste: First of all, I'm not constantly updating the map, so it's possible it's not updated like Saudi position (intially, had not made any public statements). I'm not agree about Sudan change because, as you said, Sudanese government fired the spokeman who made negative announcement but also they said that were studying their position (in Catalan wikipedia, it's referenced), for that I call them ambiguous position like Pakistan (I don't know if this country has changed or it has said a clearer position recently). Regarding Malaysia, I think you are right and I have made a mistake, but because it's not a clear position of satisfaction with the pact, I will change it to yellow (not grey because it expressed about this like Sudan has done). I await your response about the new update and if your internet problems are persisting, feel free to ask me to make more changes in map. Thank you for your concern.
- P.S. Remember that there are articles like "Israel–United Arab Emirates Peace Agreement" that are blocked and cannot be edited. KajenCAT (talk) 18:37, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @LéKashmiriSocialiste: I was updating the map when I found this news from Saudi Arabia. This has made me switch Saudi Arabia to yellow and not red. This country didn't reacted in negative way but also they didn't congrulate them. However, it is saying the price to pay if the agreement is to be repeated, but with Saudi Arabia. If you don't think the same in some of the things I said, I'd appreciate talking about it before editing the map. Thank you!--KajenCAT (talk) 19:10, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
The Al-Jazeera source is talking about a prince (not an official, he was a former ambassador) of Saudi royal family saying that if Saudi Arabia normalized relations with Israel, it would come at cost of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital. It is not an opposition to the deal.
Rather he says that future agreements like the UAE one should in return for a higher price (since Israel only temporarily suspended annexation). There is no hostility or support of the deal itself. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 23:21, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @LéKashmiriSocialiste: Can you give me a reference to argue that (the negative reaction by Saudi Arabia). Thanks
- When did Saudi Arabia react negatively? Read carefully the same source you linked earlier. In it prince Turki bin Faisal (he is a retired ambassador and is no longer an official) says that if Saudi Arabia normalized relations with Israel, it would come at cost of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital. he never expressed any opposition to UAE's deal itself, only said feals like the one UAE did in future should exact a higher price from Israel (as in UAE's case Israel temporarily suspended annexation).
- Also the Saudi foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said the deal could be seen as positive, but his country will not normalize relations until peace is signed with the Palestinians, hopefully within the framework of the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. Where did any of them react negatively? [1]
LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 07:45, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
I never said Saudi Arabia reacted negatively. I only said it reacted unambiguously. That was a mistake, I meant ambiguously. But never said negatively. You're misassuming. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 11:35, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- That was a mistake about changing it to red. I meant yellow. But you should have realized it was mistake since Malaysia was already red. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 14:06, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
Please change Western Sahara back to grey, it isn't recognized by many as part of Morocco. LéKashmiriSocialiste (talk) 11:19, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I believe Bosnia should not be green, should be limited to Republika Srpska or maybe striped or some other category. This because the Bosnia did not formally congratulate Lukashenko but the source states the following:
Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, acting in a personal capacity, congratulated Lukashenko on his re-election, which was condemned by the other two members of the presidency, (Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić, Bosniak and Croat members of the Presidency respectively) who called on Dodik to withdraw the comments.
So 1/3 of the presidents congratulated Lukashenko personally, 2/3 condemned this. I do not know how to change this though. Abcmaxx (talk) 14:13, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Abcmaxx: Hi! Assuming that the three presidents are equally important, one option would be to create a new category like a soft yellow or green colour with its due explanation to wikipedia. The other alternative would be to represent only the Sprska republic, as you said, although I don't have the knowledge now to separate that territory from Bosnia through Inkscape.--KajenCAT (talk) 07:13, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, please change Jordan's position to neutral/ambiguous. There is no endorsement to the agreement by Jordan.--Sakiv (talk) 15:08, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: I checked and you are right. My fault. Done! Thank you, KajenCAT (talk) 21:00, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
Additional countries for Israel-UAE accord
[edit]I posted on the talk page about some additions that I wanted to bring to your attention. Specifically
- Netherlands: Support[1] [2]
- Indonesia: Neutral/Ambiguous[3]
- Tunisia: Opposed[4]
- Somaliland(although not recognized as a country): Support[5]
Great work on the maps by the way. Zoozaz1 (talk) 00:36, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Zoozaz1: Thank you! The Dutch message I didn't see (and look I checked it several times because I thought it was weird that they didn't say anything).
- Regarding Indonesia, they refuse to say anything like the Sudanese government, so I think it's better to keep gray.
- It's not the Tunisian government position. Is this. For that I will change its color to yellow (Neutral position regarding Israel-UAE)
- Regarding Somaliland, I know it but I don't have enough knowledge to add Somaliland in this Inkscape map.
- Thank you for your help!!
