Esta muy nevado para ser abril, ¿no?...¡A mí me lo vas a decir! :) Yo que me había concienciado de hacer bonitas fotos de cielo azul y agua verdosa y justo cuando llego yo, lo hago de la mano de in temporal invernal que ha dejado escenas como esa a mediados de abril. He tenido muy mala suerte, el tiempo no me ayudó (para nada, te dejo una muestra), pero lo peor de todo fueron las carreteras, me quedé encallado en un puerto en el norte de Montenegro y las pasé p..as para moverme por Kosovo, sobre todo al bajar puertos (tuve que servirme del freno de mano casi todo el tiempo porque el pedal no servía de mucho)...

Gracias por tus comentarios y consejos, he subido una nueva versión de la iglesia, veremos que pasa con la otra nominación. Espero que salga alguna FP porque como te comentaba aquí uno casi se juega la vida por fotografías como esas :) Poco² 16:00, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Madrid

Hola Carlos,

Yes, you have now a competitor for Madrid ... but only with those that I took last week. That was my first time in Madrid. A shame that the light was terrible most of the time! That was fatal for the pictures of modern buildings like the Nuevos Ministerios and Puerta de Europa. I was desapppointed not so much with the lack of simmetry of Plaza Castilla but with the metal shinning parts of the two buildings! I was fascinated with the interior of two churches: the Almudena Cathedral and the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande (which are not pretty at all from the exterior). Buenos noches Kadellar,

I am beginning to feel like an evil, stubborn reviewer because I am the only one not to be wow-ed by your otherwise excellent image. I read you response to my review, and I certainly understand what you are saying about getting the wow from taking that image. I recall spending several afternoons on a summer vacation in Croatia a few years ago, trying to take a good photo of "a similar creature" (I never figured out the species), and it kept running away or hide every time I got close enough to photographing it. And back in 2010, I spend literally days to take a photo of a hovering hummingbird in Guadeloupe. None of the efforts turned into FP material, but certainly, to finally get a just decent shot of the hummingbird was a great personal wow. And of course I am absolutely fine with the fact that all other reviewers are wow-ed by the image itself.

It is very personal and subjective what wows the individual.

Let us see if I can catch anything wow-able on camera when I visit Granada in a months time.

Hi Kadellar, in order to solve this conflict amicably, wouldn't it be acceptable for you to change the wording

• from "If you wish to use it, please credit this with: "Carlos Delgado" in the immediate vicinity of the image."
• to "If you wish to use it, please credit this with: "Carlos Delgado", preferably in the immediate vicinity of the image."

Suitable category name for the building in File:Refugio Militar Capitan Cobo - Pico Veleta - Sierra Nevada - 2014-08-07.jpg?

I have been having a little discussion with Poco a poco at his talk page regarding the above linked photo I recently took in Sierra Nevada. He is busy though, and I thought that maybe you could help me avoid making any stupid errors? I would like to create a category for the building, but I am in doubt what a suitable name would be for it? On the building there is a plate on the facade next to the door saying

REFUGIO MILITAR

CAPITAN COBO

I guess that is the name of the building and that this would be appropriate basis for category name describing the building. Do you think an appropriate name would then be "Refugio Militar Capitán Cobo". If I locate the building on Google Maps, a "sleep" icon with the name "Albergue Hoya de la Mora" is also shown on top of the building, and I do not know if that information is reliable, and if that is the official name? As far as I understand "Albergue" means "hostel" in Spanish (reminds me of the Danish word "Herberg", which also means hostel) and I also note that the road leading to the building is called "Ctra. Hoya de la Mora" (what does Ctra. mean, by the way?) But the building with the logo "Todo Por La Patria" appears to me to be purely military and does not appear to have anything to do with an "Albergue"? --Slaunger (talk) 18:44, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, Slaunger. I have looked up the "hostel" and I can understand that you are confused with the real name. I think both "Refugio militar Capitán Cobo" or "Albergue militar Capitán Cobo" are suitable for the category, but I would choose the first because that's what's written on the facade. It seems that Albergue Hoya de la Mora was an old name. The difference between albergue and refugio is that refugio is used for a hut or shelter in the mountains, albergue is hostel. So, what about the hostel? Is the building military? Yes. Is it a hostel? Yes. How? Because it is a hostel only for people belonging to the army and their families and it's also used for people doing the military service and practices in the mountains. As Poco a poco says, a special forces brigade is usually training at the place. Now, the little Spanish lesson, Ctra. means carretera, which is road; and "Todo por la patria" is the motto of the Guardia Civil, All for the homeland. I have also created Special Operations Command, Spain in the process as a sub-category to Special forces of Spain, and in the process studied some of the cool coat of arms for some of the special units. Participating in WLM

Holá Kadellar!

Thanks for your added Spanish description on my Alhambra image and for the heads up regarding WLM. You know, we do not have WLM in Denmark, and actually I thought that meant I could not participate. Moreover, I have been reluctant to consider it as I recall a while back where photos entering the finals were mostly photoshop kitsch, and I was sceptical regarding the selection criteria/competences among jury members.

After I uploaded the FPC the normal way I actually got curious and read a bit more about it, and decided to give it a try, and I have later uploaded another 2x6 pano of Alhambra via WLM Spain. However, it has quality issues, and although it is +60 Mpixels, it may not even pass QI.

So, if I had known about WLM when I uploaded the current FPC, I would have uploaded via WLM Spain. Do you know if it can be added later by adding the sutable categories, or is that considered 'cheating'? --Slaunger (talk) 18:39, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Livioandronico2013. I'm sorry if you felt upset or if I was too harsh, I tried not to be that way. I sometimes disagree with the reviews, but it's usually only one problem (for example, CA): the reviewer says it's bad and I don't think so. In this case the picture had too many issues to go to CR, at least some of them had to be solved. When you disagree with the review, I recommend you to put it back to blue instead of yellow, I think it's better. After the first review I think it's fine, but after two I think it was too much.
