File tagging File:Killing columbine.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Killing columbine.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Killing columbine.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- @Marchjuly: Boy. I'M the owner of that image. I created it as the theatrical art for the JAD film.-K-popguardian (talk) 22:51, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- Just send send in an email to OTRS verifying that you own the copyright on the image. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:11, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: Can't find an email address.-K-popguardian (talk) 01:07, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
- The email address (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org) is listed in the notification template posted above and also in the speedy deletion template added to the file's page. There's an example of the type of email you need to send found at COM:ET. You should try to use an official email address (something associated with the JAD Studios) to make verification easier.
- Please understand that lots of people upload content to Commons that they claim as their own work when it's really not. Most posters for movies are protected by copyright and that copyright tends to be owned by the production company making the film. A free license accepted by Commons bascially means that the copyright holder is giving advance permission for anyone anywhere in the world to download the file at anytime and then use of any purpose they want, including to use to make money. A free license accepted by Commons also cannot be revoked or cancelled. So, for these reasons, Commons often requires verification of copyright ownership to protect the rights of copyright holders.
- One last thing, if you created the poster art as part of a contractual agreement to do so for JAD Studies, then you need to make sure that officially transfering copyright to JAD or whomever wasn't part of the contract. Sometimes professional artists, photographers, etc. do work for companies, etc. under the condition that anything created (including copyrighted content) becomes the sole property of the company. The same thing often applies to employees who create things as part of their job. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:49, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

- There, on behalf of my manager, it's been sent from the business email.-K-popguardian (talk) 04:51, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
- OK. Whoever sent the email should get a reply containing an OTRS ticket number. This is sort of like a "case number" so tell the person who sent in the email to keep a record of it. You can use this number to refer to the email at COM:OTRSN, etc. if you want to find out any details about the processing of the permissions email. Once you get the reply from OTRS and know the OTRS ticket number, replace the template I added to the file's page with {{OTRS pending}} (make sure you fill in the necessary parameters), so that others will now that an email has been sent to OTRS. Once an OTRS volunteer processes the email, they will replace the "OTRS pending" template with {{OTRS received}}. Once the details of the email have been verified, an OTRS volunteer will replace the "OTRS received" with {{OTRS permission}}. There tends to be a bit of a backlog since there are usually many more permission emails to verify than their are OTRS volunteers, so you need to be patient. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:30, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I uploaded a non fair use image of Keena now that she is the only member of fifty but can not currently access Wikipedia editing.
[edit]Keena is the only member of Fifty Fifty so I think the Wikipedia should be updated. I don’t know if there’s anyway to add pictures through commons, I’m asking if you could. Only if you want to.
