Image Tagging Image:Leica Logo.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Leica Logo.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Your quality image candidate Ulm-Muenster-KramerFensterDetail-061209.jpg initially looks very good, focus is good, perspective has presumably been corrected as that looks perfect. But the colours are severely over-exposured, this gives strange effects for instance look closely at the bright red clothing - it looks out of focus yet detail surrounding it looks in focus. I presume the image has been cleaned up using a graphics program, and the colour saturation has been increased too far (try looking at a colour level histogram and you will see how the colours are bunched up against the right hand side). --Tony Wills 06:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Tony, many thanks for the detailed evaluation and explanation. I have seen for the original picture and the original has the same effects. The only thing I have done, was to straigthen out (means to adjust) the picture to an accurate rectangle. I don't correct something like saturation or contrast. My Panasonic FZ20 often has the right exposure and white balance. I don't know what caused the effects in this case. - Best regards --Joachim Köhler 19:39, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Permission to use images for Commercial project
[edit]Hello Mr. Köhler,
I would like to inquire about the possibility of using some of your images for a commercial project. We are a manufacturer of Holiday decorations based in China and I am tasked with searching for appropriate images for use with picture balls. We plan on making a collection based on European Christmas Night Markets and some of your images fit the criteria and are of excellent quality.
What do we need to do? Are there any special arrangements to be made?
Thank you for your time.

[edit]Dear Joachim Köhler,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2022, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again for a few minutes of your time. Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 150K+ pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 35 countries around the world.
You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet). To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey.
Please fill in this short survey and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2022.
Kind regards, Wiki Loves Monuments team, 09:38, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments 2023 - Deutschland
Maintenance categories
[edit]Just an FYI, but Stefan Kühn was the one who came up with the idea for the maintenance categories. As well as the search that the they meant to help take images out of. So to the degree that you think it was weird or whatever that's on him. Please message him about it if you think it's a problem that's still worth throwing a childish tantrum about. It's not my issue though. Nor do the categories even exist anymore anyway. So probably you should just drop it and move on. BTW, as far as I know I removed every image from the category when I had it deleted. So if any images still contain the category I have clue what that's about or how to resolve it. You might want to take it up with Stefan Kühn though. But the category was empty when I had it deleted. So it shouldn't be used anywhere else at this point. Maybe someone re-added the images after I removed it. I have no clue. Adamant1 (talk) 11:36, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oh wait, I see what your talking about now. Give me a while and I'll look through the files and deal with it. I'd appreciate it if you didn't post about it on my talk page again though. Thanks. --Adamant1 (talk) 11:41, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Anyway, it took like 2 seconds to remove the category with cat-a-lot. Hopefully it was worth your little tantrum on my talk page. Please don't message about that or anything else again. --Adamant1 (talk) 11:44, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Adamant1:
- please don't delete or revert my posts, like here or here. That's not possible at all. I've never experienced that in the almost 20 years I've been working here. And please moderate your tone and stick to wikiquette. If you delete another one of my posts or use abusive language, I will complain about you on the appropriate page. Just let the others do their work here in peace. --08:13, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
