Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "Dear Taivo,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to request a review of the block imposed on my Wikipedia account, User: Jack Berdul, with the Block ID #476969. I believe there may have been a misunderstanding or mistake regarding the reason for this block. It appears that my account has been mistakenly labeled as spamming when my intention was to update outdated information.

Specifically, I attempted to make a legitimate edit on the Wikimedia Commons page with the file link: [1]. My intention was to change the source link from "www.evosignals.com" to "UltreosForex.Com". This change was motivated by the fact that "www.evosignals.com" is an expired domain, and I wanted to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, it seems this action was misconstrued as spamming.

I am committed to adhering to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and contributing positively to the community. My intention was solely to improve the accuracy of the information, not to engage in spamming activity.

I respectfully request that my block be reviewed, and if deemed appropriate, lifted.

Additionally, please note that my IP address is (Redacted).

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that with a thorough review, the misunderstanding can be rectified. Sincerely,

Jack Berdul Jack Berdul (talk) 11:32, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Decline reason: "COM:BP asks an understanding of the issue and a credible commitment to discontinue. Neither are on offer here. Verily, this excuse is not genuine. Even if we were to accept that you merely wanted to repair a deadlink, such a motivation would not have included: 1) changing the attribution to represent yourself to be the author (!!!), which no reasonable person, regardless of experience, would have thought appropriate; 2) edit warring ([2][3][4][5]) with no attempt at discussion, explanation in edit summary, or any other reference to an "accuracy" concern, which is not the conduct of someone attepting good faith repair; and 3) insertion of another ultreosforex.com reference on es.wiki, overwriting a different (i.e., eafxstore.com not evosignals.com) and fully functional link. @Jack Berdul: Firstly, did you create File:Forex signals.png? Why are you otherwise changing the URL source? The source field should show who created the image, it is not a place to advertise your website. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - contributions} 11:58, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
