Fringe programme
[edit]Hi George - we are putting on an exhibition this Fringe in the Scott Monument and wondered if we could use your image for the Fringe programme entry?
Thanks
Cramond causeway picture
[edit]Your picture of the "teeth" between Cramond village and Cramond island only shows a very small part of the causeway in the lower left hand corner. The Causeway is hidden behind the teeth. I believe you will find that what you have photographed is an anti-submarine defence. A cable was run across the top of the teeth to discourage surface vessels. When you return to the location, look to the west of the teeth and do not be misled by the sewer pipe which as a child was often used to cross to the island. The causeway if further west and follows its own line. I can testify that the sands to the east are treacherous.
