Thanks for catching it
[edit]Thanks. Yes, they were cut and paste errors. I don't know if you know User:KLOTZ's work, but it is impressive in its breadth over geography and time, e.g. he has one pic of a school bus (in operation), turned into a combined railway locomotive/passenger car that travelled over the Andes on a railroad that's been closed for 40 years. Or see the video
-
More ambitious
He doesn't place them on Wikipedia however and has trouble with Commons categories. That's where I fill in, mostly by cutting and pasting likely categories, and then correcting them on the fly. Feel free to join in and help!
Thanks again.

Location question
[edit]Think back to 16 September 2013 at 16:55:16. Where was the furnace, and how did you find it? I drove through Bradys Bend today, and I couldn't figure out where it was at all, even after looking at your photo and the nomination form. I found something that looked like a furnace foundation at 40°59′57″N 79°37′30.5″W / 40.99917°N 79.625139°W (right by the road, almost next to the historical marker), as if the other one had been destroyed, but nothing at all resembling the intact furnace. Nyttend (talk) 01:46, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! I didn't realise from the photo that it was on a hillside — even now, knowing that, it looks more like you're just as tall as the furnace, which is simply shorter than most. I guess it's good that I wasn't trying for it, then. The Sugar Creek bridge on the north side of the ballfields is currently under construction, and the workers are occupying the ballfields and parking areas thereof; I briefly thought of parking and walking, but there's nowhere to park at the moment. I'll probably be heading up that way again at some point and will remember what you've said. Nyttend (talk) 12:28, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

NARA TIFs
[edit]See the heading at Category:NARA TIF images with categorized JPGs. I hadn't realized it either, until recently, but those are supposed to be kept otherwise uncategorized. Choess (talk) 21:16, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. Glad to have another pair of eyes on things. Best, Choess (talk) 21:25, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
