Deletion of Picture

Hello Fitindia,

you deleted the picture we uploaded to the site [[1]]because of a missing permission. Unfortunately, the photographer is unknown. Therefore, we cannot obtain permission from him. The photo has been in the family for a long time and comes from our company archive. How can we find a solution here? @Nadzik: They were deleted no permission and the notice was added on 4th May, and was to be deleted 7 days after the notice was added if OTRS was not received. I think AD's arguments make sense, and we shouldn't be deleting images from/for draft articles, at least not as speedy deletions. Please reconsider the deletions, and undo them unless there are good arguments not to.

Thanks for temporarily restoring the image. It may be useful if I explain our side of the matter. The image was used with an accompanying sentence to illustrate the meaning of a word. We can accept that it may have to be removed due to copyright problems. Our problem is that we were in no way informed that the picture was going to be removed. So we just see a robot suddenly removing parts of a page. After that we have to look into page histories to find out what happened and how it could be repaired, which is sometimes made more difficult by the picture no longer being visible. If you use RfD, we are notified so we can either solve the copyright issue or change the picture and the sentence before removal, which is less of a hassle. So my polite request would be to use RfD when pictures are in use on nl.wiktionary.org (or other projects). --MarcoSwart (talk) 07:27, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Fitindia. I hope you are well and staying safe. I have just discovered that one of the bots that presumably acted on your behalf deleted the File:Çörek3.jpg and File:Türkmen tamdyr.jpg pics from the Tandoor page. Coupled with an obligation to explain the reasons for this sort of action as an administrator, shouldn't there a notification of some form be placed on the article's talk page informing that there is a discussion taking place or a deletion request was received and etc? Hello, please take a look at this report: Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#Files named with meaningless/disruptive names (motivated renaming was reverted without any valid reason) as these are serious everyday violations of the Commons rules and protection of meaningless names (in this case, Kalumny which translates as Columns). User Kazimier Lachnovič with filemover rights constantly performs violations of the Commons rules, creates instability issues and protects meaningless names, thus creates confusion. You deleted File:Humayun Saeed.jpg recently which had been deleted several time before. Please compare it to a current file File:Humayun Saeed 1.jpg for which we have a permission ticket but I can't be sure it's not the same file. Obviously I'm not an admin so can't do it myself.
