Your overwritings
[edit]Please do not overwrite files with upscale and\or "colourizations" made by bot under already existing files, but instead upload under a new filename and state the fact that your colourizations or upscaling using bots\apps\programs and that they instead of your previous erronueos descriptions of "Original Colors restored" or "Most Natural Version". Cheers. Tm (talk) 16:24, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
Underlining this, regarding File:TonyHatch2013.jpg, where you've upscaled an old smartphone photo to give Tony Hatch 1/4 of a moustache. Please upload under a new filename and say what you're doing. --Lord Belbury (talk) 17:27, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Alberto Herrera Franchi.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Please stop overwriting historical photos with upscaled images
[edit]Your triple-sized software upscaling of File:Subhi barkat.jpg changed his pencil moustache into a full, white moustache with a thick black stripe up the middle, which I doubt is how he wore it.
If you want to create a software upscaled version of a historical photograph, you must follow COM:OVERWRITE and upload it as a separate image, rather than replacing the original. You should also add a {{Retouched picture}} template to make it clear to people that it has been digitally manipulated, or at the very least mention this fact in the file description. --Lord Belbury (talk) 20:54, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Uploading AI-upscaled images is highly discouraged; as several users have already informed you, it is wholly inappropriate to overwrite existing images with upscaled versions. I have blocked you from uploading files until you are willing to communicate that you understand this. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:35, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
Okay, I understand and will refrain from overwriting images. EnglandMeadows (talk) 17:16, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Is there a way that you could block me from overwriting images only but still have the facility to upload? EnglandMeadows (talk) 17:18, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Pi.1415926535: do you agree to unblock? Taivo (talk) 13:23, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
