- Please, excuse my english (I'm spanish). You have deleted "Image:FidelGuerilla.JPG" that I uploaded. I'm new in Wikimedia Commons, but I think that all cuban images before 1997 are considered in Public Domain as they did not sign the Berne Convention pact until 1997. This is the reason because this image is in english Wikipedia (here).
- Please ¿is this right? ¿Could I re-upload this image to Commons? Thanks. --Elnecio 19:21, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Please respect my request to keep discussions where they started, as this makes conversations easier to follow. I am watching this page, so I will see responses made here.
- The image was deleted primarily because you falsely claimed to be the author of the image, which you claimed to be licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License and the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license. Attaching a fraudulent copyright notice to a work or making false licensing statements regarding the work is illegal. Secondly, I can't find any evidence supporting the claim that the work is actually in the public domain. The fact that Cuba did not sign the Berne Convention until 1997 may not necessarily mean that Cuban works created before that are in the public domain. Finally, all images must have a source so that the license can be verified. If and only if you can show with reference to authoritative sources that the image is indeed in the public domain, you may upload the image again, taking care to state the source use an appropriate licensing tag. —LX (talk, contribs) 18:39, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
