Hello, Category:Meyer's Ornament is a subcategory of Category:Ornaments, so you don't need to do what of have done. Kolossos 19:19, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and or licensing of this particular file. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --- I've retagged it for him. I hope this is satisfactory. Nice to see you here by the way Dogears.DVD R W 07:36, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Re: Filename change
Ah, there is no move option for images, sadly. What you have to do is upload the file again under the name you want and mark the old one like this: {{Correct name}}, and one of the admins here will come along and delete the old one. DVD R W 04:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Yay, you're using HABS :D I just learned about it recently and have uploaded a few things. Someone got to Category:Farnsworth House before me :-( I have to go back and add the HABS template to my uploads because I didn't know about it then. See ya, DVD R W 19:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ohmygod, this should keep us busy for a long time! :) —dogears (talk • contribs) 19:24, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Don't forget to make a Tweed Courthouse gallery here. DVD R W 19:30, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Galleries and categories
There is a lot of discussion here about the virtues of these two things. Probably because they have many similarities except that people often add text and in other language links to galleries. I try to use them both. ooooo you got some Dakota Building pics, I really love those CPW apartment buildings. Don't forget to get plans / sections / elevations from HABS when they have them. DVD R W 16:18, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Arigato gozaimasu (you speak Japanese too?!) See: Category:Dakota Building.
- When people use the search box on Commons, the article is the default search result. But, I'm going to populate Categories (which fits into in the category tree structure), and then put a redirect to the cat. in the article with the same name. Is this against "policy"? —Dogears 17:44, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think it is against policy or custom to do that. I think there has been some debate over galleries and categories here but I don't know much about it. The point about the search box is a good one and that makes some sense to me as a reason to populate galleries more than categories, but I usually try to contribute to both. I asked Lar, who is knowledgable and helpfull and has been around here longer to take a look at this. DVD R W 22:35, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, do as much as you want of both. On another note, which of these three portraits do you prefer? [3], [4], or [5]? Too bad he isn't wearing the glasses. If the links don't work search Philip Johnson at [6].
- No one will recognize him, but this one is the best:[7]. See also Google image search. I tried to find portraits at HABS/memory.loc.gov, but they are all images from Look magazine, or similar, and are just thumbnail size. We need PD portraits for the articles! Will continue the search. --Dogears 18:53, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll add that one to the article. It is PD under the photographer and {{PD-Van Vechten}}. DVD R W 22:01, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

NY World's Fairs
You uploaded this picture that pertains to the 1939 NY World's Fair. I am looking for pictures (perhaps from your source) of the Westinghouse Time Capsule of that 1939 Fair. The Time Capsule was called "Cupaloy" and I am in the process up writing up a new article on this as well as the Time Capsule of the 1964 World's Fair which happen to be burried at the same place. I uploaded many pictures of the 1964 World's Fair since I attended that Fair. Am also looking for additional pictures of the 1964 Time Capsule. Thanks, --Doug Coldwell 16:44, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
