undue weight in Italian languages map
[edit]You gave undue weight to minority languages in South Tyrol (here). We should not color areas, where a language is spoken by less than 50% of its inhabitants - otherwise the whole map would be full of stripes. Please revert the map. thanks.--Sajoch (talk) 08:00, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Another hint (in response to Pataviums requests): Nones is not considered a ladin language (neither by recent and elaborate scientific studies, nor politically recognised), and "ladin" is declared by only 21% of the population of the Val di Non. So there's no base to color that area in blue. Similarly are the dialects in Belluno south of Ampezzo/Livinallongo not considered ladin dialects. The province of Belluno enumerates dozens of municipalities, where "ladin" is recognised as a minority language. This political statement though says us nothing about what dialects are really spoken in those villages. Please have a look at following document [1] (in german "studi dialettometrici nel Trentino"): page 15 (map #3) shows the similarity of Fascian (ladin) with Nones (Nones is green like the rest of the province, thus a "normal" trentinian dialect), or page 17 (map #5) where Nones is similar to the italian in Bolzano or central Trentino, but far away from Fascian (blue). And for Belluno, look here (all yellow, not blue, and a bit green in Ampezzo and Livinallongo).--Sajoch (talk) 11:24, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
POV in a map
[edit]Please read [2]. Thanks.--Sajoch (talk) 21:49, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
- Qui siamo su Commons, non su it.wiki!!! Purtroppo sono bloccato su it.wiki, altrimenti lo segnalerei come UP. Saluti.--Sajoch (talk) 18:51, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
Please respect request for discussion!
[edit]You again altered a map (File:Italian_languages.png) without discussing it on the images' talk page despite beeing asked to do so. Please revert it back, and discuss the changes by citing valid sources.--Sajoch (talk) 09:54, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Non posso nemmeno segnalarlo come UP.

Translation of jpeg image
[edit]Hi CortoFrancese, you have translated this image. There is currently a request for translation in English. Would it be possible tell how you translated the jpeg image? Thanks --Ikonact (talk) 13:26, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Ikonact: , to translate the text in the image, I used 2 tools in particular:
- WhatTheFont, a useful tool for recognizing the font family of the text in an image;
- Adobe Photoshop, which I used to cover the original texts, redraw the parts of the map covered by the old texts and write the translated texts.
- If you prefer not to use Photoshop and / or not to subscribe to Creative Cloud, I recommend Affinity Designer as an alternative: it looks like Photoshop for several features and you can use it as a free trial for 90 days with all the features active and without signing up for a subscription such as Creative Cloud.--CortoFrancese (talk) 22:26, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Nicola Palmieri.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Hello @Afeef, thank you for the monition. I received the image directly from the subject shown in the photograph, without any restrictions or express declaration of license of ownership, but for a free use according to my personal discretion. Given the need to express a condition of use on the platform, the license I have reported does not make sense and should be published without a license and for free use.
