Yoga Photos Flagged for Deletion
Hi Clpo13,
Thank you for bringing the copyright concerns to my attention.
I am confused about your statement: "Reason for the nomination: Files are from the website http://mryoga.com/, which has a non-free copyright notice (All Rights Reserved) at the bottom."
I have double checked www.MrYoga.com website and found that the content on www.MrYoga.com website is shared under the Creative Commons Licence, much like the Wikipedia content is. It states: "Content is licensed under the Creative Commons License."
Please see the attached screenshot of the website and please visit www.MrYoga.com.
Please let me know how I can undo the flags for deletion on the photos that I have uploaded.
MilenaGlebova1989 (talk) 20:07, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi MilenaGlebova1989. This appears to be a recent change. When I nominated the files for deletion, the copyright notice said "All Rights Reserved": [1]. It's fine if the owner of the website has changed the conditions to allow reuse. However, the current terms are too vague. What version or edition of the license? There should also be a link to the license text. See COM:LICENSING. If these issues are addressed, you can leave a comment to that effect at Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by MilenaGlebova1989. clpo13(talk) 20:12, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi again Clpo13,
Thank you for your prompt response. I will send an email to Mr. Yoga, Inc. with your following suggestion: "the current terms are too vague. What version or edition of the license? There should also be a link to the license text. See COM:LICENSING. " and request the specifics of the licensing.
If you have any specific suggestions that I can forward to Mr. Yoga, Inc. in this regard, please feel free to let me know.
I'd love to keep this valuable content up, so everyone on Wikipedia/Wikimedia can benefit from this.
MilenaGlebova1989 (talk) 20:40, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well, the uploads are already licensed as Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, so I'd suggest that. clpo13(talk) 20:45, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, Clpo13, for the suggestion.
Just to confirm, in order for Wikipedia to keep using the photos in question, you recommend that the www.MrYoga.com website states the following at the bottom of their website:
"Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0" ?
If this is correct I will go ahead and send an email to Mr. Yoga Inc.
Would you like me to update you when the MrYoga.com website has the above statement for Creative Commons in place?
MilenaGlebova1989 (talk) 21:01, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi Clpo13,
I have contacted the Mr. Yoga, Inc. office, and they have adjusted their website to allow the usage of their photos as outlined under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, just like you recommended.
Thank you for your suggestion, it was implemented. They now have a link to Creative Commons website on every page of www.MrYoga.com.
Please fee free to let me know if I need to do anything further on my end.
Thank you, MilenaGlebova1989 (talk) 14:13, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Your VFC installation method is deprecated
Hello Clpo13, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
Welcome, Dear Filemover!
Hi Clpo13, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Thanks for uploading File:9M-AGK at BTJ.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:9M-AGK at BTJ.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Sajal Aly (cropped).jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Congratulations, Dear license reviewer
Hi Clpo13, thanks for your request for license reviewer status. The request has been closed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. You can now start reviewing files – please see Commons:License review and Commons:Flickr files if you haven't done so already. We also have a guide how to detect copyright violations. Potential backlogs include Flickr review, Picasa review, and files from other sources. You can use one of the following scripts by adding one of the lines to your common.js:
- importScript('User:ZooFari/licensereviewer.js'); // stable script for reviewing images from any kind of source OR
- importScript('User:Majora/LicenseReview.js'); // contains also user notification when review fails, auto blacklist-check and auto-thank you message for Flickr-reviews.
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.freenode.net. You can also add {{User license reviewer}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your contributions on Commons! --Majora (talk) 21:22, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- @T Cells and Majora: Thank you! I hope getting promoted a few minutes ahead of schedule won't be an issue. I'll start checking out files for review and ask around if I have any trouble. clpo13(talk) 22:02, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not opposing you as a license reviewer, but I do have a question. Will you check files like XXXTentacionFebruary2018 (cropped).png more thoroughly in the future? - Alexis Jazz ping plz 03:44, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Alexis Jazz: certainly. My comment there was based on a very brief look at the cropped photo, including reverse image searching it on Google Images and TinEye, neither of which showed any results indicating it came from anywhere other than Wikipedia or Flickr. The original photo was deleted with the edit summary Copyright violation; see Commons:Licensing, and I wasn't sure if that meant it was a case of Flickr washing or something else, which is why I asked the deleting administrator to comment on it. clpo13(talk) 15:51, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- In addition to the above: PD-mark is not a license, but you knew that as you answered a question about it in your license reviewer request, so I'm a bit puzzled by this DR. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 04:45, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

File source is not properly indicated: File:Chromy-to-Pope-heart-of-peace (cropped).jpg
This media was probably deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Chromy-to-Pope-heart-of-peace (cropped).jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
[[:File:Chromy-to-Pope-heart-of-peace (cropped).jpg]] ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

"claim of own work at dewiki, backed up by high resolution and Exif data"
You are correct. There are a lot of photos by this Dr. Bernd Gross, all taken with the same camera or another (earlier, probably) model from the same (Panasonic DMC-FZ) series.
insource:"Dr. Bernd Gross" prefer-recent:1,7 returns over 20000 results and this user can't defend any DR because he's been banned from Commons by oversighters. As usual with that, it's not clear why but he's still contributing as users and bots can move whatever he uploads to dewiki to Commons. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 20:17, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
