@0x0a: Oh, okay. I'm used to Twinkle doing it for me automatically on the English Wikipedia and I didn't even think to check. We discussed this on my talk page there so I don't think it would've been that surprising: [1]. Is there a commons equivalent to Twinkle or do I need to leave such messages manually? Hi, you can enable the gadget "QuickDelete" at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets to mark those file and notify users automatically. The tool will be positioned in the left sidebar of the page. 0x0a (talk) 01:29, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I'm not your i'm ypur empress would be unable to edit their userpage because they are globally locked :). I took care of it (and you shouldn't run into the abuse filter again, since I made you autopatrolled.) Best, —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 04:36, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mdaniels5757: Oh, okay, thanks. Clovermoss (talk) 04:39, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mdaniels5757: Thank you for your informative comment over at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Anti-bullying poster at Oshawa Centre.jpg. It got me thinking, the only time I uploaded a file of a sign, it was File:Oakes Park rules sign.jpg. I asked around at the help desk at the time to see if it was okay and they said it probably would be because the text is minimal. But if it's not, I want to be held to the same standards as everyone else. Clovermoss (talk) 22:10, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think that sign is fine to upload. The text is mostly composed of a list of things that are not allowed, which does not attract copyright. The remaining text also does not require enough "skill and judgment" in writing to be copyrighted. The city logo may be copyrighted, but if it is, it is probably de minimis. —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 02:06, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mdaniels5757: Okay, good to know. I appreciate the second opinion. Clovermoss (talk) 02:07, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
