File:Derek Williams.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Thanks for uploading File:The Priscilla Companion - Dialogue from the film & Original Music Score by Guy Gross.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:The Priscilla Companion - Dialogue from the film & Original Music Score by Guy Gross.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- Request that this image be undeleted, as it relates to the relationship between Caroline O'Connor (actress) and Derek Williams (musician). The photograph was taken after Stephen Sondheim's birthday celebration at the BBC Proms at which O'Connor performed. I understand permissions were sought and obtained from the photographer in a Wikimedia Commons ticket. Chrisdevelop (talk) 06:48, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- This image - source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/154745016@N06/52823045295/in/dateposted-public/ is a better quality replacement for an identical one that was recently nominated for speedy deletion. This image should be retained, as it has relevance to the subject's role as Chair of the Wagner Society of Scotland, and both Katharina Wagner and Eva Wagner-Pasquier are notable. - The relevance of this image will become clear once a section on the Royal Geographical Society's publication of Andrew Goudie (geographer)'s book pictured in the image is published. The image portrays Goudie with his new book on notable explorers published by the RGS, which has a chapter devoted to the WW1 desert explorer and cartographer Claud Williams MC (grandfather of Derek Williams (musician) standing to the left in the picture), and author Russell McGuirk who is the editor responsible for the publication of Claud Williams' book, which he is holding up, also published by the RGS. The copyright holder for this image, who took the photo, is McGuirk's son, Brendan. He is willing to be approached to release the image for use on Wikimedia Commons. The image may also be used in the Wikipedia article on Goudie himself. Chrisdevelop (talk) 06:34, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- This poignant image of Nigel Osborne playing his violin in a duet with a cellist in the ruins of a theatre destroyed as a result of the Balkans civil war bombing is pertinent to the subject of his charity work, and I do not see any reason for taking it down. Its poor image resolution is the best that was available at the time. I notice there is a copyright issue in the notice. This photo was uploaded several years ago, and passed through the Wikimedia Commons approval process. Why has it taken until now to raise this? Contacting the photographer, if he/she is still alive, this long after the event is likely to be difficult. Chrisdevelop (talk) 06:25, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- The photographer for this image, Lewis Forbes, approved this image in a Wikimedia Commons Permissions ticket long ago. What is the reason for requesting deletion? The image is of historical interest, in that it features the rebuilt Mostar Bridge, and Professor Nigel Osborne, who ran charity camps in the Balkans after the civil war. - The photographer for this image I believe was contacted years ago and approved its inclusion. I see no reason why this excellent image should be taken down. If there is an issue with permissions or copyright, I would be glad to investigate it further. This photo was uploaded several years ago, and passed through the Wikimedia Commons approval process. Why has it taken until now to raise this? Contacting the photographer, if he/she is still alive, this long after the event is likely to be difficult, but for now I have contacted Nigel Osborne to see if he can track them down. @Gbawden: Night of 1,000 voices permissions were granted by Hugh Wooldridge ages ago, around 25 May 2018 acording to confirmation received. The image of Williams with the Wagner sisters is a selfie, as was the photo of him in Festival Choir uniform, as was the photo of him at the Ecco Stadium with Osborne, and was uploaded with this ID for each image. He is therefore the Copyright holder for these images. Please advise what to do to reinstate the images. I do not understand why these keep getting deleted and then reinstated, and why the permissions once granted keep getting lost.
Lewis Forbes who took the photo of Osborne with Williams and Ermin sent approval as below: On 24/05/2018 23:48, Lewis Forbes wrote: > > I hereby affirm that I am Lewis Forbes, the creator and/or sole owner of the exclusive copyright of both the work depicted and the media as shown here:https://www.flickr.com/photos/154745016@N06/39769594800/in/dateposted-public/ > > to be used in the draft Wikipedia article 'Derek Williams (musician)' and have legal authority in my capacity to release the copyright of that work. > > I agree to publish the above-mentioned content under the following free license: Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International. > > I acknowledge that by doing so I grant anyone the right to use the work, even in a commercial product or otherwise, and to modify it according to their needs, provided that they abide by the terms of the license and any other applicable laws. > > I am aware that this agreement is not limited to Wikipedia or related sites. > > I am aware that the copyright holder always retains ownership of the copyright as well as the right to be attributed in accordance with the license chosen.
