Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Upload request
[edit]Can you upload an image of Jimmy Uso as Undisputed Tag Team Champion, and a better image of Solo Sikoa? That would be appreciated. Summerslam2022 (talk) 15:15, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- Alright mate, i will. Hope you are well, cheersǃ Fxxkingbay (talk) 16:51, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Your images
[edit]You seem to be uploading images that are not available under a free copyright license and have not presented proof that you have sought permission for such images. Linkin Prankster (talk) 02:32, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Ariel Tatum signature
[edit]Please provide an explicit link to the public record where you've taken this signature from [1]. Linkin Prankster (talk) 17:10, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- I created a signature file following the style of User:Mars Julian/Gallery. He has made dozens of signatures with such a summary, and has had no problems. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 20:36, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- And also check Category:SVG signatures, not all of them have to show explicit links. I've also cross-checked whether what I uploaded meets the criteria or not. Thanks for the input, in the future I'll be more detailed. But for that file, I'm going to leave it be. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 20:47, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- All files violating copyright do not always get deleted as they get overlooked. I've marked your signature for deletion, the admins will decide. Linkin Prankster (talk) 21:20, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. However, try not to act subjectively, and start being objective. You always look for my mistakes in every file I upload. Take life, my friend. What do I get for the file I uploaded? Nothing. purely voluntary. If the admin deleted it, that's fine. Especially if it makes your sleep even more soundly. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 21:34, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm actually going to complain you to get you blocked if your file gets deleted. I have no interest in repeatedly looking after the files you are uploading. I was only hoping you'd improve but you clearly don't care. Linkin Prankster (talk) 21:38, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- I don't care? I already said that from now on I will be more detailed. And for that file I'll leave it like that because I don't think there's any indication to rush to change it now, because most of the signature files are like that, and it's still 4 in the morning here.
- I prefer to be reported if it gets you away from me ASAP. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 21:45, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not here to stalk your files and constantly see if you have stopped. The admins can decide now. Linkin Prankster (talk) 22:57, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, do whatever you like with me to the admin. Regardless of what your intentions are in monitoring my files, I'm really offended by the way you're doing it. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 23:05, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- My intentions to check your files were simply preventing copyright violations and hoping you would stop it by now. You haven't. I am not here to momitor you and since you keep doing it repeatedly I'll have to report you. I can't keep checking your files always, that would be stalking. Linkin Prankster (talk) 04:59, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Your subjective view of me, offending me, in my past files, I accept with all your tags, which is true I was wrong. And I have thanked and apologized to you in my Wikipedia user talk.
- But for this file, where indeed most signature files have such a source, you still see me as a thief and still tagged my files. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 05:24, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- You haven't provided any link to where you derived the original image from, simply mentioning you got it from public records and others have also done things similarly is not sourcing. You can provide the link of the website where you got it from or the complaint will stay up. And after it gets deleted I'll ask for you to be blocked. Rules are more important. Linkin Prankster (talk) 05:28, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Even if I act like I'm right in this file, where could I go wrong. But if you don't act subjectively, ask the same thing to dozens of signature uploaders who have sources like mine, where is their proof that the signatures they uploaded are public domain.
- And btw, I've attached a link on the source. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 05:32, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Just ask me to be blocked by now. I'm tired, like really really tired. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 05:34, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not interested in arguing with you anymore. I'll wait for admins to decide about the file and then I'll complain. Linkin Prankster (talk) 06:12, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- "You can provide the link of the website where you got it from or the complaint will stay up."
- I've attached the link, how come the complaint still appears?
- Didn't you say, "Rules are more important"? Bayu Oktarino (talk) 07:04, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- "This file is a copyright violation for the following reason: The uploader has recreated the signature from an image Ariel Tatum's tweet according to his own statement in the source. Since tweets are copyrighted this is a copyrighted violation."
- Dude, it's just based on Links. Regardless of where the source is, her signature remains the same because it's from her Kartu Tanpa Penduduk (KTP), the official identity of a resident as proof of identity issued by the implementing agency that is valid throughout the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 08:56, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Tweets are copyrighted (https://copyrightalliance.org/faqs/tweets-protected-copyright/), copying a signature from a government card on a Twitter image doesn't make it a public record. You Linkin Prankster (talk) 10:14, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- It can't be deleted i guess. (https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:When_to_use_the_PD-signature_tag) Bayu Oktarino (talk) 12:39, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- It absolutely can " The PD-signature template is used to tag a scan or photograph of an individual's personal signature when that signature is considered ineligible for copyright protection both in the US and under local law."
- Twitter content is copyrighted (https://twitter.com/en/tos), hence the signature and the image is too. Linkin Prankster (talk) 14:02, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Just to remind, from the beginning I used the {{PD-signature}} license, and did not use {{Self}}. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 15:04, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- It's still a copyright violation. Linkin Prankster (talk) 16:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

- Hi @Linkin Prankster: You are mistaken here. Although a tweet is copyrightable, it is possible to extract a portion of it which is too simple for copyright protection, per COM:SIG. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:52, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- @King of Hearts: Finally! Thank you very much. I'm so tired of all the subjective accusations he gives. After all, if my actions were indeed wrong, why are so many signature files like mine being safe. Bayu Oktarino (talk) 18:00, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- @King of Hearts: The content in tweets is also copyrighted per Twitter terms of service (https://twitter.com/en/tos):
- There are Intellectual Property Licenses in these Terms: You retain ownership and rights to any of your Content you post or share, and you provide us with a broad, royalty-free license to make your Content available to the rest of the world and to let others do the same. Conversely, we provide you a license to use the software we provide as part of the Services, such as the X mobile application, solely for the purpose of enabling you to use and enjoy the benefit of the Services.
- So the signature should be copyrighted as it's content owned by the uploader. Correct me if I'm wrong. Linkin Prankster (talk) 18:00, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Linkin Prankster: There's a concept called the threshold of originality; a work needs to contain a minimum amount of creativity to be considered copyrightable. So if someone tweets out just the word "hi", then their tweet is considered too simple to be eligible for copyright. The same thing applies if they just tweeted out a photo of a signature. Now here, they tweeted out a photo, which is very much copyrightable, but you can extract out an uncopyrightable portion such as a signature. The analogy would be if they tweeted out a long sentence starting with "hi"; even though the entire sentence is copyrightable, you can extract out just the word "hi" and it would not be copyrightable. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 18:14, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- I see now, thanks for responding. Linkin Prankster (talk) 18:20, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- @King of Hearts: Thank you for the information, and thank you for stopping by too. Hope you're doing well!🤝🍻 Bayu Oktarino (talk) 18:24, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category
[edit]When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Coaches of the Indonesia women's national association football team. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). Jmabel ! talk 19:48, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
