Hi! Thanks for asking about that image. I'm glad to answer your question and if there is any way you can help, I really appreciate it.
I had a look at the colour codes of the lowest percentages and they go as follows (in hexadecimal and decimal):
- RGB: ffbaba / 255, 186, 186
- RGB: f6c1ff / 246, 193, 255
- RGB: c4ceff / 196, 206, 255
- RGB: cdc3cc / 205, 195, 204
What those numbers mean, is that the information is transmitted in reducing the red-ness and increasing the green-ness of a colour. When a person has problems with red-green vision, the sum of changes is virtually zero with the two changes cancelling each other out. The blue-ness of the colour also changes but the changes are quite small and not consistent - at first increasing then later decreasing.
What I think would work is making the red and green change in the same direction, meaning that both either increase or decrease. Also, making the blue change consistently helps because darkness of the colour will help in telling colours apart.
