Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Click the "Signature and timestamp"-button to sign your talkpage contributions

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Commons guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Hallo Alfredte, ich gehöre ebenfalls in diese Kategorie. Man schafft das schon, vielleicht nicht so einfach wie die «Twitter-Generation», aber wir haben dafür etwas anderes in unserem Rucksack, Beharrlichkeit und Ausdauer. Also nur nicht locker lassen! Knapsackbilder

Hallo Alfredte, danke für deine Kommentare - ich werde heute abend nochmal nachschauen, was in den Publikationen steht. Dass wir uns kennen halte ich erstmal für schwerlich möglich (was sich natürlich gern ändern lässt), ich arbeite beim nova-Institut und wir sind bei InfraServ eingemietet - die Fotos wurden mir von der Kommunikationsstelle für den Artikel zur Verfügung gestellt. Hi, there we go: Santa Justa Elevator, also known as 'Carmo Elevator' ("Carmelites Lift", after the name of the street near by), located in the city of Lisbon in Portugal. This neo-Gothic structure was built at the turn of the nineteenth century to the twentieth century by the engineer Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard. Pixelio

Hallo Alfredte, ich habe bei 2 deiner Uploads, die Pixelio im Dateinamen trugen, den Credit gemäß Pixelio-Bedingungen ergänzt. Allerdings solltest du dir m.E. überlegen, ob die beiden Bilder auf Commons wirklich weiterhin mit Pixelio "verbinden" möchtest. Infolge eines strittigen Fotos eines anderen Users sind nämlich die Pixelio-Nutzungsbedingungen aufs Tapet gekommen und die lassen doch einige Fragen offen. Bei deinen beiden Fotos hast du zwar die Pixelio-"Lizenz" für redaktionelle und kommerzielle Nutzung gewählt, aber selbst bei dieser ist eine Nutzung in "Bilddatenbanken, Bildkatalogen und artverwandten Bildsammlungen" ausdrücklich ausgeschlossen[1]. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass Commons darunter fällt. Falls deine Beziehung zu Pixelio also den gleichzeitigen Upload auf anderen Plattformen erlaubt, wäre es ggf. besser, die Pixelio-Bindung von File:398176 R K by Alfred Teske pixelio.de.jpg und File:Elevador Santa Justa nacht 0881.JPG zu lösen. In diesem Fall solltest du das Link zur Pixelio-"Version" aber bei Other_version einfügen, damit nicht irgendwann ein LA gestellt wird, weil du das Bild von dort "geklaut" hättest. Wir können die Erlaubtheit oder Nichterlaubtheit solcher Pixelio-Fotos auf Commons aber auch erstmal grundsätzlich zur Diskussion stellen. --Túrelio (talk) 20:27, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
