Stamp uploads
[edit]You have marked several stamp uploads as self-made, which appear to have artwork going back many centuries. This is clearly an incorrect license. Please mark the website from which you got these images and find a proper tag in Category:License tags. Patstuart 20:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- I took myself those pictures. They are pictures of philatelic matter of my personal collection. Could you help me ? I don't understand what I must do. PLease explain me clearly (I am french speaker) or modify yourself the text of the pictures. Thank you. Alcyon. —the preceding unsigned comment was added by Alcyon (talk • contribs)
- The issue here is whether stamps are in the public domain in the country which they represent. They are in some countries; in others, they're not. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure; perhaps you could leave a not at the village pump. I'm sorry to be too big of a trouble, and I hope we can sort this out. Patstuart 18:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Stamp images
[edit]Please don't upload any more stamp images under GFDL-self until you've been able to establish the correct license. Again, if you go to COM:VP, people should probably be able to help you out. Patstuart 17:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Stamp copyright notices
[edit]Belgium stamps are copyright for 70 years after issue PLUS 70 years after the designer's death per Commons:Stamps/Public domain#Belgium - this designer died in 1975. You do not own the copyright of these stamps so cannot release them under a licence you decide. Sorry but they must be deleted. Ww2censor (talk) 13:26, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Copyright status: File:Vat Sen1.JPG
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Vat Sen1.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
