Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
[edit]Hello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future.[survey 1] The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[survey 2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.

DON'T use exclamation.
[edit]There is really only one rule when it comes to the exclamation mark: don't use it. This is an exaggeration of course! In fact, rare usage is the point: Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Projects are bad to use this. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 10:53, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
Welcome, Dear Patroller!
[edit]
Hi Дима Г,
You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.
As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.
We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.
If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons. --Steinsplitter (talk) 15:55, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Categories for deletion request
[edit]- Hello, first thank you for you help, and all my best wishes for this new year.
I noticed you added a category to the DR, it is a very good thing.
However the deletion requests may be transcluded in several pages and/or logs, exemple this DR is currently transluded {{}} in this page, and will be soon transcluded in an archive. The issue is that if you simply add a category, then the category applies to all the page that contains the DR.
There is a solution, if you use this syntax :
<includeonly>[[Category:Undelete in 2073]]</includeonly>
then the category will apply only to the DR, what is the goal, as exemple you can look of what I did there. This feature is available with the Edittools, when you edit a page. See also [1].

about some media files, that you warned me to be deleted...
[edit]recently i noticed a note, that one of my files is to be deleted in a week, because of no valid copyrights/permissions.
this file was uploaded by me, and this was a slightly optimized screenshot, that i made.
so, i've entered this information in notes, and set (cc) license type for this file.
i'm novice to all these licensing and permissions, so i thought, this is to be enough for publishing. also other files, that i upload, are made by myself either via screenshooting, or from my own camera/scanner. can you please take a bit to explain me, what have i done wrong, or forgot to do?
feel free to contact me in any preferred way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IQ.kz (talk • contribs) 10:47, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Read Commons:Screenshots, you can't upload the screenshot because X-files TV show is copyrighted.--Дима Г (talk) 22:29, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Deletion of photo of David Grigorievich Stern is incorrect
[edit]Hello, I have uploaded 2 pictures of David Grigorievich Stern to his page, both of those photos were marked for deletion by you mentioning this is unlikely to be own work as he died in 1937. Those pictures are from the family photo album. David Grigorievich Stern is my great grandfather. Best regards, Alice Aliceushakova (talk) 09:51, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
