File:Lord letchworth2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I've changed your speedy delete request into a deletion request listing. You may be right, but I don't have enough info to evaluate if it qualifies for speedy deletion. More info, please? Thanks. --Infrogmation (talk) 13:25, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello Spartaz.

Why did you delete my user talk page on Wikipeida? My account was blocked indefinitely by User:Fram and I left a polite message thanking him/her and adding an image of Nikos Kazantzakis' grave with short quotations from John Banville's The Sea and Jon Stallworthy's The Future Guest and I was surprised to find it deleted by you the following day.

I should appreciate an explanation. You will appreciate that I can't use Wikipedia itself to contact you.

Thank you.

UK passport stamps

[edit]

Hi,

See File:UK Entry clearance.jpg. It is quite obvious that ordinary stamps (on the right) do not get a copyright. However visa design (on the left) might get one. And please, do not send emails unless there is a privacy issue. Regards, Yann (talk) 15:26, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for response

[edit]

I have responded to your refreshing and sparkling repertoire here. Might you be able to grace us with yet more and respond to the obvious issues that you yourself have created on another project. And please tell us, why we should not strike your vote here, given you have an "us and them" attitude. russavia (talk) 00:01, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Go away. Spartaz (talk) 02:47, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

[edit]

Hi Spartaz,

I am looking at the sudden influx of editors to my latest RFA who I have had no interaction with this year on Commons, and am getting more and more puzzled. As you have only contributed to Commons on 3 days since my last RFA, do you mind letting me know how you got to hear about it? Thanks -- (talk) 17:58, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder why you chose to challenge me rather then anyone else? Anyway, its basically your bad luck that I recently nominated some images for deletion and when I checked back for progress I saw your RFA on my watchlist. I watchlisted the draft in the summer. Don't you think its rather naughty choosing a non standard name for your latest RFA? Presumably because of the likelihood that the next in the series (is is 6 or 7 I get confused) would be bookmarked or was it to reduce the obviousness of how many unsuccessful goes at this you have had? Spartaz (talk) 20:40, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know and understand the history of regular Commons contributors, both those supporting and opposing my RFA as this is a small community; in addition it is obvious where the discussion is being distorted by off-wiki trolling targeted at my sex life, having nothing to do with my competence to be an administrator here and now. I had expected those same people to be bored of trolling me as I have no influence, authority or reputation to protect any more.
In your case, I am disappointed that after all these years, you are still looking to shoot me down, rather than leaving me to flourish and enjoy my harmless hobby making good contributions to this project. It's time to move on and focus on the good things we can do. I don't think anyone really cares about who was right or wrong in 2009 or 2011, there is nothing to prove any more. It's 2015 and my life has radically changed in those intervening years. I don't feel I am the same person at all, whether for good or ill, given enough time we are all different people and should be allowed to move on and create new opportunities rather than being forced to relive long past regrets. Thanks
P.S. The link in my nomination statement was to all past RFAs, it was not intended to hide anything. The naming has always been inconsistent, as it happens the RFA filename was suggested by a current Commons admin. -- (talk) 23:03, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm curious why I seem to be the only user whose participation you have challenged? Why is that I wonder? Even the trolling supports have been accepted without question. I'm also very confused about how your sex life has anything to do with this conversation? If you have one, I'm very pleased for you, but, being frank, whatever you get up to in your own time is of absolutely not interest to me, or any of my business for that matter. What ever opinion I have on you is formed purely on the interactions we have had and my observations of your on-wiki behavior. Why do you keep bringing up the subject of your sexuality? I don't think I have ever expressed my preferences and interests in your direction so I am baffled why you feel compelled to raise yours in my direction. Please don't do it again unless it is actually germane to the conversation. Thanks.
P.S Which 'crat gave you that advice? Was is Odder I wonder? Spartaz (talk) 18:59, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Spartaz: Thanks for the mention, but as I don't know what this is all about, I'm probably not the person you're looking for. Also, for what it's worth, wrote a current Commons admin, not a current Commons 'crat, but as I said, I haven't got the faintest idea why you're including me in this. odder (talk) 19:04, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thank you Odder. I though he had written crat and you seemed the obvious candidate. I'm glad to hear that you were not the one responsible for giving Mr Fae bad advice on the matter. Spartaz (talk) 19:06, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Spartaz: I still don't know why you're having a go at me since I think we have never interacted with each other before in any capacity whatsoever, but I'll let that pass. PS Just FYI, most people have e-mail notifications enabled when you mention their nickname on-wiki, which is why I was able to respond to your mention of me so quickly. odder (talk) 19:10, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Spartaz: It seems strange that Geo Swan would say "I offered to email her the last version of the article ... Of course I won't be able to follow through on this offer if I can't get access to a copy" when he actually does have access to a copy. I guess it's possible that Geo Swan just forgot that he copied the article over to WikiAlpha. I suppose it is also possible that he has remembered, edited the copy on WikiAlpha since he made the earlier statement, and just forgot to mention that he has a copy and doesn't need the article restored anymore. Or something. World's Lamest Critic (talk) 03:05, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
