There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Uploads of images of plants from USGov sites
[edit]Hi there. I was informed that you were uploading images of plants from govt web site. That is really great, I mean this as a person who has been doing the same thing.
I am also too lazy to spend a lot of time making gallery here, and enjoying the gallery enough not to want to interrupt anything, especially good anythings. That being said, I wanted to show you the template I made for uploads of images that were originally from Britton, N.L., and A. Brown. {{B&B 1913}} and there is a pastable thingie there for using. It puts the image into the category for the species which is in the image and for the work which it is from and it adds a link to the gallery of the species name and the license.
It is wiki.commons and you can honestly do anything that you want to and this includes using the template or not or making similar templates that make it easy to do the same thing for images from other web sites or asking someone (like me) to make a template that will do the same thing only for another web site and license and stuff....
It makes uploading images from that one old book kind of fast though, this template.
There are lazy people who use these images and look for these images who rarely look at galleries. While I find this to be a crime against civility in every sense of this idea, it is a fact about the dullness of many users.
Mostly, thanks for the uploads! -- carol (talk) 22:35, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello Bob the Wikipedian/Archive 1!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!
Thank you. BotMultichill (talk) 12:39, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]Resolved |

Hello, Bob the Wikipedian!
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them. Here's how: 1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense: 2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets". When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.7 January 2009

File:Ecro 001 svp.jpg
[edit]You uploaded the file 17:52, May 19, 2008. It was nominated for deletion on 12:47, February 22, 2009 by User:Stickpen. It is preferred that the nominator inform the uploader. Item #3 of the nomination tag is to inform the uploader. The sysops have to decide upon and then delete tens, if not hundreds, of images daily, and while unfortunate, it would be an excess hardship for them to inform the uploaders. I'm sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. -- Avi (talk) 19:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
