{{Editprotected}} Please add layouttemplate class to it, or in other words: replace class="welcomeBox" with class="welcomeBox layouttemplate". Thanks, ערן (talk) 19:41, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Don't unlink non-PD images
[edit]{{Editprotected}} As discussed on Template talk:Welcome/en, the "link=" directives need to be removed from File:Gnome-colors-alacarte.svg, File:Gnome-applications-utilities.svg and File:Gnome-edit-delete.svg in order to comply with their licensing requirements. —LX (talk, contribs) 14:41, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit]{{Editprotected}}
Please add a level 2 header at the top, such as ==Welcome!==
, otherwise, this template appears above the table of contents on talk pages. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 04:59, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Not done This is exactly what the template should do, as far i know. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:56, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Fix div tags
[edit]{{Edit request}} Could Template:Welcome/layout/sandbox be copied over to Template:Welcome/layout. The update adds a missing div tag which will reduce some lint errors. diff. -- WOSlinker (talk) 23:21, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- This change is to solve a Lint error as well—{{Lang}} uses
<span>
, so multiline lists cause misnesting, although I haven’t tried to find it in the list containing a bit more than 1.5 million(!) errors. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 13:17, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
@Perhelion: It’s still not good, the {{Lang}} gets out of <b>
. My change fixes this. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 10:17, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Image links
[edit]Currently 3 of the 4 images have links to the file, in usual classic wiki style. I think the fourth (the question mark icon) should follow suit. That could be accomplised by removing the single instance of "|link=" from the template. I think it's pretty cool to be able to find out the used image like that and to see the whole wiki is a house of cards, in a good way, built from lovely little building blocks, only constrained by your imagination. Agree, disagree, don't care? Having said all that I did notice the disclaimer on this page Template:Welcome, so this might not be worth the CPU effort. --Palosirkka (talk) 19:52, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- Agree, I made the change in the sandbox. To make sure we’re not wasting the CPU time without a good reason, I’ve also made a larger change introducing TemplateStyles, which makes possible to use one-column layout on small screens—many users browse on mobile today, where the two-column table layout may be simply unreadable, and it’s not a nice thing welcoming them with a such text. (To the admin: please don’t forget fully protecting Template:Welcome/styles.css before syncing the sandbox with this live page, or a vandal can display nearly anything in the welcome box by editing the CSS.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 21:52, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
