Automatic Categorisation under "Category:Maps showing the DECADEs"

[edit]

Hi, the YEAR-maps-categories (e.g. Category:2010 maps) containing:

  1. maps created in this year (e.g. Category:Maps created in 2010‎) and
  2. maps showing the year (e.g. Category:Maps showing 2010, Category:Maps showing 2011).

So an automatic categorisation under "Category:Maps showing the DECADEs" (e.g: Category:Maps showing the 2010s) becomes difficult.

I think I agree, but I'm not 100% sure I understand your inverted category trees (no blame - it's hard to illustrate multiple parents in a list). You're mostly suggesting an intermediate level between Category:2010s and Category:Maps showing the 2010s/Category:Maps created in the 2010s called Category:2010s maps? Whereas now instead of Category:2010s maps serves in places of Category:Maps created in the 2010s ? If so, that's fine by me. - Themightyquill (talk) 22:46, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Following the logic of separating maps created in and maps showing a given year, a perfectly valid reasoning, the only logic categorization scheme is imho the following:

and in parallel, the existing structure without any change:

Therefore, the following categorisation templates should probably be modified (proposed changes in bold):
