Usage

Use this template to add a reference to an species on the web site FishBase by providing the species id.

Note: For fishes, Commons (category, taxonavigation) follows FishBase more than ITIS

Note: This template can be used in conjunction with {{Taxoconflict}} and {{Subspecies}} with parameter "source=FishBase" (See here the different values for source)

Note: if you want to edit this template, first try your modifications on {{FishBase species/sandbox}}.You can then test your edits in {{FishBase species/testcases}}.
When the new version is ready, ask an administrator to move it to the main template. You can do that by putting a {{Edit request}} in the template talk page and explaining that the admin just needs to copy the sandbox code into the main template.

• speciesId

the id of the species.

• speciesName

the binomial name of the species.

The name of the author

• checks=no (optional)

This template compares the parameter <speciesId> with the property P938 stored in wikidata.

When different, a maintenance category is added.

checks=no disables this test when {{FishBase species}} does not describe the taxon described in wikidata (Happens when there are multiple call to {{FishBase species}} on the same category/gallery, mainly in monotypic taxons)
