Deutsch: Anhand des Kriegerdenkmals in Kollnau erläutert Stadtpfarrer Heinz Vogel die Spannung zwischen dem Bedürfnis nach einem Ort des Gedenkens der Toten und dem inszenierten Heldentod in der NS-Propaganda. Den Rahmen bildete der bundesweite Tag des offenen Denkmals, der 2013 unter dem Motto "Jenseits des Guten und Schönen: Unbequeme Denkmale?" stattfand. Das Kriegerdenkmal in Kollnau wurde von Erwin Krumm aus Elzach entworfen. Ursprünglich sollte eine Christusfigur Bestandteil des Denkmals werden, doch dies lehnte die Landesberatungsstelle für die Erstellung von Denkmälern als zu religiös ab. Am 1. September 1935 – am Gau-Kriegertag – wurde das Denkmal mit einer großen Zeremonie im Beisein der NSDAP und ihrer Nebenorganisationen, aber auch Musikkapellen und der Zivilbevölkerung mit mehr als 1000 Menschen eingeweiht. Die Namen der Toten des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurden nachträglich hinzugefügt. |
