Summary
[edit]DescriptionJohnston Car park, Omagh flooded 1969 - geograph.org.uk - 1080614.jpg |
English: Johnston Car park, Omagh flooded 1969 I can see a Mini and a Ford Cortina on the left; past that is a large building which I believe was a tyre depot. In the distance is the very narrow opening of Scarffe's Entry (before it was widened) where it comes from the junction of High Street and Market Street towards Johnston Park. To the left of the entry is the Watterson's Coal Depot and on the right is Scarffe's timber yard and buildings. The delivery lorries for both businesses had a time of it reversing into their respective properties. And to think that the entry was open to two way traffic, and if you drove up it, you had to watch that the side of your car didn't get scored by school children carrying large school-bags. |
