English: Higher Doomsford Crossing / River Taw. This photo is taken on the Exeter to Barnstaple railway branch line, looking North. The railway, completed in 1854, runs next to the River Taw for this stretch. This was taken in the flood of October 2000. The railway acts as a levee protecting the crossing keeper's cottage. |
