Tool quest; August 2024

Cat-a-lot is great for moving multiple images from one category to another. But do you have something similar for moving multiple categories from one category to another? I've been trying to do this with a collection of categories, and I must admit, I find the task to be tedious, to say the least. --DanTD (talk) 21:15, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

You can also use cat-a-lot for that. Simply go to Preferences then check "Allow categorising pages (including categories) that are not files" and save. The problem is that it still doesn't work properly for categories – it loads indefinitely and doesn't move some categories. See this recent VP thread. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a thread about this at MediaWiki talk:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js so far. Prototyperspective (talk) 22:22, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

The preferences in cat-a-lot. When you click on Cat-a-lot and it doesn't show "Preferences" at the bottom you need to move the box so that this button can be seen. Prototyperspective (talk) 22:58, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
