Wildlife collective identification
Would be fine to have a button to ask ID from others, as in botanical species. Avecus (talk) 02:37, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
Some additional places to draw tag suggestions from
The file name, description, caption, and even what wiki pages that image is used in would all provide very useful info. Even if the software cannot automatically generate suggestions in the same way as currently, it'd be good to include the information when picking tags. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 05:12, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
Over notification
I've grown tired of the twice-daily notifications about this tool. I was happy to contribute occasionally to this task, but the level of daily nagging is simply excessive and intrusive.
I have now disabled the notifications pestering me to tag images. As a consequence, I will probably never contribute to this again. Cnbrb (talk) 01:48, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- I agree. Nobody should be notified more than once per week. Those who didn't respond to the prevous notification should only be notified once in a month. Anything more frequent is SPAM. AlasdairW (talk) 13:20, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
Updated images
When I upload a new version of an image, the bot asks me for tags all over again. It should at least start with the tags I gave the last version. Zero0000 (talk) 05:59, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Species identification services
There are a few w:en:Automated species identification services such as iNaturalist and pl@ntNet to aid identification of living organisms, and they work closely with the free & open access communities.[1][2]&visipedia.org The identifications are quite good.
In Commons, Category:Unidentified organisms and subcategories are not much monitored or coordinated. Perhaps an integration of such a service would be useful. Thank you. —Vis M (talk) 10:52, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
More complaints against vague tags
special:permalink/544802739#This_continues_to_mystify_me by User:Jmabel.--RZuo (talk) 15:53, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- I quote HenkvD from the linked thread: "When users are accepting these blind, as many(/most?) do, this results in these bad depicts statements." And why wouldn't they? There are no instruction discouraging this (that I know of, at least), apart from the prompt to "check" before accepting. Without instructions, the normal way to act is to take the suggestions as a model, and accept everything in line with the rest of the suggestions. If it says "dog" and there is a cat, don't, but if it says "tree" and you see a tree, then you do accept. Somebody might add a depict for the species (from the free text description or category), but the tool gives the impression that that is not what you are supposed to do. –LPfi (talk) 05:31, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Small number of own uploads
Hi! I started to use this tool quite often. It allows two feeds of images: Popular and Personal uploads. The Peronal uploads also shows a counter of total number of images. The total number represents cca 6-8 % of my total uploads. Why is it so and why I can't get all my uploads to be available for the Suggested Tags? Aktron (talk) 22:45, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
The example (Peter_iredale_sunset_edited1.jpg) to show the advantage of the tags in searching (for "beach") is just wrong
If you read in the second paragraph that a regular search of the word "beach" would not find the picture Peter_iredale_sunset_edited1.jpg is just wrong. Try it and you will find that picture without using special search with tags!--OlafTheScientist (talk) 18:05, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Full names of scientific articles ... as SDC??
I just don't understand the relevance to propose full names of published articles when browsing on the possibilities. It took me a while to understand the added value of SDC compared to the sophisticated Wikimedia Categories... but when I see those articles, I am lost!

Select a Category to Structured data
Hello,
Is it possible to choose only one category on which to improve structured data with your tool ?
Thanks a lot ! — Koreller (talk) 13:48, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hey, this is a great point. I mean, this would help me to overcome the bug I stated above :-D Aktron (talk) 18:59, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
It is recommended to add a search box to tag content in a category
It looks like it would be nice to use this particular page in a category, shouldn't we do it?--Q28 (talk) 12:25, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
Categories
Why doesn't the tool evaluate the categories and make appropriate suggestions? Example: I have a photo with four actors. All of them are named in the image description, the image is also sorted into the four categories of the actors. But none of the suggestions of the tool picks up on that, I have to name all actors manually. Is this intentional or is there no better way? --Superbass (talk) 19:54, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
