Wiki Loves Monuments Norway
September 2018
- Participate
- The main part of the Wiki Loves Monuments contest is the photo contest. Photos of registered monuments in Norway must be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons during September to qualify. The photos can be taken at any time, but only photos uploaded during the month of September will be judged. The winners will be announced on October 31, 2018.
- About the contest
- Wiki Loves Monuments was first organized in the Netherlands in 2010. In 2011 the contest was expanded to a number of European countries, and in 2012 it went global with 35 participating countries from all over the world. Wikimedia Norge is now organizing the Norwegian part of the contest for the eighth time, having organized it every year since 2011.
- An overview of all eligible monuments for the photo contest can be found on Kulturminnesøk, which is a map tool made by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage. More resources can be found on the resource page.
- Writing contest
- Like in previous years, Wikimedia Norge will also organize a writing contest that runs for two weeks during the photo contest. During weeks 38 and 39 (17–30 September) the weekly contest on the Wikipedias in Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk and Northern Sami will be about monuments in Norway. In order to participate you need to register for the writing contest.
