Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Australia
Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Australia is an upcoming photography competition around cultural heritage monuments, part of the international Wiki Loves Monuments 2013. This will be the first time Australia has taken part in Wiki Loves Monuments, and everyone is welcome to get involved, whether as a participant in the competition, volunteer in the organisation or both. There is no requirement for participants or volunteers to be from Australia. Australia is no longer a participating country in WLM
About the contest
[edit]Wiki Loves Monuments in Australia will follow the same rules as the international competition. Participants upload pictures taken by themselves of monuments within Australia and upload to Wikimedia Commons during the month of September under a free license. The exact definition of a qualifying monument are still to be determined, but current plans agree that it will be limited in scope to War memorials around Australia (see http://www.msk.id.au/memorials2/default.htm ). Uploaded photographs does not have to be taken during September 2013, but it must not have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons before. The most valued images are of monuments that Wikimedia Commons do not already have high quality images in.
