Wiki Loves Africa 2023 - March 1^st to April 30^th, 2023

Take photos of Kenya's Climate and Weather to win exciting prizes!

Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest where anyone across Africa can contribute media that relates to that year's theme to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiki Loves Africa encourages participants to contribute media (photographs, video and audio) that illustrate the specific theme for that year. Each year the theme changes. Each year's theme is chosen by the community to be a universal, visually-rich and culturally-specific topics (for example, markets, rites of passage, festivals, public art, cuisine, natural history, urbanity, daily life, notable persons, etc).

You are encouraged to submit any photos of Climate and Weather in Kenya between 1st March to 20 April 2023. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share images of weather and climate themes in Ghana with the world through Wikimedia Commons.

How to Participate

Are you are in Kenya? Find any climate and weather features, take a photo, Video (time lapses etc), Audio (sound of the wind, thunderstorm, river etc in an artistic way and upload it to Wikimedia Commons.

Competition rules

Every Upload should be:

• Done with a Wikimedia commons Username. If you do not have one, you can kindly Create an account here.
• Self taken and self uploaded;
• Uploaded during March and April 2023;
• Uploaded process with give permission with a CC BY-SA licenseto re-use the image;

Events

• March 1st 2023: launch of international contest
• Local launch date to be announced soon

Prizes

There are several prizes up for grabs, both nationally and internationally.

National level prizes are

• 1st National Prize - KES 10, 000.00
• 2nd National Prize - KES 6,000.00
• 3rd National Prize - KES 3,000.00
