The dry stone walls have been standing there for some decades and most certainly belong there. My lens does not resolve the foils of grass 3 km distant, sacrifying them to noise reduction (which is set to low), but does resolve clearly the stone of the walls. I’m sorry if it is too good. The new version is worse - thick gray lines appeared (e.g. around windows) after correction. On the other hand, I don't see any CA in the original version and would have promoted it. Dear Mattbuck, are you sure there was CA? My suggestion: revert or redo correction. Comment I can follow the decision to scale down, as in the past repeatedly stage photos were declined because of some noise. Sometimes one is forced to use ISO3200 or even more to get a reasonably sharp shot, no current camera is free of noise then. -- Smial 13:49, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

- Review Given it refuses to open even in photoshop, I don't think this can be promoted. Files do need to be usable, and if PhotoShop "Cannot parse JPEG data" then I don't see how anyone can use it. As noted below, if you view it in MSIE it seems unsharp and filled with CA. I'm not sure this is a decline reason, but I certainly can't promote it. Your panoramas are amazing, but I have two comments: 1.Purple CA around snow, see notes. 2.If one looks at the picture at 1:1 scale, it looks very blurry and noisy in many places. So if one made, say, a 10mpix crop of an arbitrary place on your picture, that would definitely fall below QIC standards. If you shrink the image 4 times in each direction (or maybe 2 times will be enough?), the image will become much sharper and I will be happy to promote it. Given it refuses to open even in photoshop, I don't think this can be promoted. Files do need to be usable, and if PhotoShop "Cannot parse JPEG data" then I don't see how anyone can use it. As noted above, if you view it in MSIE it seems unsharp and filled with CA. I'm not sure this is a decline reason, but I certainly can't promote it. I also note that 135MP in 8MB means the image is not great quality to begin with - I'd usually expect 2-6MP per MB. Mattbuck 07:54, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

- That's not strange. Assuming the EXIF data is correct, you focused to a distance of 6.5 m. With a 35mm camera, a circle of confusion of 0.03mm (which is typical for 35mm film, digital cameras have higher resolution nowadays), 85 mm lens, and f/16 you get an acceptable sharpness within about 4.5 and 11 meters. You would have needed f/45 or f/64 to get all sharp. But in that case overall sharpness would be very bad, as diffraction would disturb the result. -- Smial 09:03, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
