La votazione per nominare i finalisti si tiene dal 1° febbraio al 14 febbraio (inclusi) La votazione per l'Immagine dell'Anno (la finale) si tiene dal 17 febbraio al 28 febbraio (inclusi) I vincitori saranno annunciati il 3 marzo dopo la fine del conteggio dei voti.

Elezione

Nella fase iniziale, dal 1° febbraio al 14 febbraio, le dieci immagini migliori saranno scelte tra le Immagini in vetrina di Commons del 2006. Ogni utente può votare fino a cinque immagini da nominare per la finale.

Nella finale, dal 17 febbraio al 28 febbraio, l'Immagine dell'Anno 2006, e le altre due finaliste, saranno scelte tra le migliori 10. Ogni utente può votare per soltanto una immagine.

Chi può votare nella finale?

Per votare, bisogna essere un editor stabile di Wiki con almeno 100 edit registrati in Commons o in un wiki account (es. in una Wikipedia). Se si ha un account Commons, lo si deve utilizzare per votare. In alternativa, si può votare con il proprio indirizzo IP. Se non si hanno i 100 edit nel proprio account Commons, ma in un altro account wiki, bisogna aggiungere un link ad una differenza (diff) contenuta nell'altra wiki nella quale si certifica la propria identità (che l'indirizzo IP o il nome utente sia il proprio). Ad esempio: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3ABryan_Tong_Minh&diff=103243817&oldid=100712171 diff] che appare come diff, o [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AAlvesgaspar&diff=103948387&oldid=101218344 diff] che appare come diff.

Tutti i voti devono identificare l'elettore da un log-in con un utente Commons, o con il link alla diff nella sua pagina di discussione come indicato sopra. I voti non conformi saranno cancellati.
