Hope I am right here

Hallo,

I made out of about 60 pictures .jpg with "JPG-Video" an .avi with 2 pics per second (1 pic is a little bit too slow, but 2 are allready a little bit to quick for my purpuse). The file has 61,7 MB
Then I converted it with ffmpeg2theora-0.29.exe to a .ogg. That gave a file with only 1.34 MB
now comparing the .avi and the .ogg (played with VLC media player) I recognize, that both play 31 seconds, but the .ogg is not so continuous (in fact ist is horrible) as the .avi, where the pictures change regulary. I suppose, that is because of the parameters I added in ffmpeg...exe, expecially the --optimize. Whereas with .avi I see the small differences between every picture, those go lost in .ogg. Could someone tell me how I have to choose the parameters in ffmpeg...exe to keep the performance as in .avi? Or tell me where can I upload the .avi and somone convertes it to an even good .ogg?

The aim is not a smooth movement, but to recognize the small alterations, which happen within the same space of time between the different .jpg. Eager to improve my knowledge, and in German would be better. --Siga (talk) 08:58, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Du kannst es entweder mit firefogg hochladen oder noch einmal mit einer der minimal-Kommandozeilen fuer ffmpeg2theora probieren. Ansonsten kannst du das avi auf http://www.solidfiles.com/ oder sonstwo hochladen, damit wir uns drum kuemmern koennen. --McZusatz (talk) 10:28, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

FFmpeg und dessen Abkömmling ffmpeg2theora sind buggy, wenn es um´s lesen von mjpg.avi geht. Lese deine Bilder in dein Videoprogramm neu ein, setze die Framerate=2fps und wähle dann als Avicodec einen losless Codec zur Videoausgabe (eventuell musst du den entsprechenden Codec zuvor installieren, z.B.unter Windows Lagarith oder utvideo). Danach die Avi am besten mit FFmpeg nach WebM konvertieren (Kommandos für 2pass Encoding):

Schritt 1: ~ffmpeg.exe -i ~.avi -codec:v libvpx -quality good -cpu-used 0 -b:v 18000k -qmin 10 -qmax 42 -maxrate 25000k -bufsize 10000k -threads 4 -pass 1 -f webm -an ~fertig1.webm

Schritt 2: ~ffmpeg.exe -i ~.avi -codec:v libvpx -quality good -cpu-used 0 -b:v 18000k -qmin 10 -qmax 42 -maxrate 25000k -bufsize 10000k -threads 4 -pass 2 -f webm -an ~fertig2.webm

Das ~ musst du dabei deinen Pfaden entsprechend ersetzen, ~fertig2.webm wäre dann die fertige Datei zum hochladen. Gruß, --Pristurus (talk) 13:44, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Das klingt interessant und zeitaufwendig. Ich lade deswegen das Video mit dem Namen Schlupfd.avi auf oben angegebene solidfiles.com hoch und hoffe auf eure Aktivität. Unabhängig davon versuch ich es nach obigen Ratschlägen ebenfalls, aber das geht bei mir immer sehr langsam, und die Ergebnisse kann ich ja dann vergleichen. --Siga (talk) 18:11, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Erledigt, http://www.solidfiles.com/d/eb04eb5e61/Schlupfd.avi falls es wichtig sein sollte, die Bilder sind alle bereits auf ca 30% (bzw. 30x30) komprimiert, die unkomprimierten Originale habe ich alle noch, sind aber nicht zentriert, Belichtung angeglichen, Hintergrund repariert,.... Inzwischen kam mir die Idee, ob man die Bilder auch nicht einfach als gif hintereinander abspielen kann. Das habe ich auch einmal hinbekommen, aber inzwischen schon wieder vergessen :( --Siga (talk) 18:22, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Die WebM findest du hier. Falls dir das so zusagt, kannst du sie dann selbst hier hochladen. Kleine Anmerkung: Höhe und Breite in Pixeln sollten mindestens glatt durch 2 teilbar sein, besser aber durch 4; desshalb hat die WebM jetzt auch leicht andere Abmessungen als deine Avi. Zuerst das leichtere: Coenagrion puella Weibchen, ich habe auch entsprechende Aufnahmen der Larve und Detailaufnahmen der Bestimmungsmerkmale von Larve und Imago, wollte alles zusammen mit dem Video hochladen.

Jetzt zum andern, aktualisiert. Ich konnte den Link nicht öffnen, habe mich aber inzwischen schlau gemacht (ist halt ne Redewendung) und den Free WebM Video-Converter heruntergeladen. Damit konnte ich die .avi 1:1 übertragen, zumindest optisch erkennt man die Reduktion auf 5,7MB nicht. Darüber hinaus viel einfacher zu bedienen als ogg mit der Befehlszeile. Am Ergenis ist zwar das Hütchen von VLZ Media-Player drauf, aber gleich werde ich versuchen, ob das trotzdem ohne Problem in Commons hochladbar ist. --Siga (talk) 09:52, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Fein, dass es geklappt hat. Nur nochmal als Tipp: versuch beim nächsten mal beim Zuschneiden deiner Bilder auf eine Teilbarkeit durch 4 zu achten; beim RGB-Farbraum (wie in deiner Avi) spielt das keine Rolle, sobald aber aber nach YUV gewandelt wird, kann es Probleme beim Konvertieren selbst oder, je nach Abspielsoftware, auch bei der Wiedergabe geben. • requesting help for 'help video clip'

We came across one video clip for Universal Language Selector help for Telugu language wikipedia as shown below. The clip is usefull but it does not show how to access help page. We will apreciate if some one helps us with simmiller clip for Marathi language with w:mr:Marathi Wikipedia background/or commons Marathi main page background. This shall be usefull to marathi language users on commons too and many more wiki projects including that of Marathi Wikipedia.

• We prefer video clip for अक्षरांतरण input option in ULS (after selecting अक्षरांतरण if you type marAThi it gives मराठी - i.e. Marathi)

I used http://camstudio.org/ some years ago. Download & install version 2.7.2 (Build r326) and select "Region"->"Full screen" after starting the program. Everything should be pretty self-explanatory. As soon as you are done with the recording and saved the file and you are unsure about editing (trimming, cropping, cutting, ...), just let us know. --McZusatz (talk) 16:03, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for this valuable info, its nice of you. Since I posted help requests else where earlier along with this. The author of Telugu clip has come forward to help us out, as of now we would prefer to have the clip same from him since he has already done similler work. And in longer run focus is to develop some Marathi Wikipedia users for this task but certainly that would take time. For any further required help we will certainly come back to you. Reduce data size and conversion to animated GIF

Removing noise from sound (in video)

In these videos there's a "beeeeeep"-noise that I don't know how to get rid of. I also want to fade in and out in the beginning and the end of the videos, but I thought it might be easier to fix the noise if I didn't. --abbedabb^disk 15:45, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

This is really easy to do in three steps:

1. Extract the audio:

   ffmpeg -i Tijana_Dapčević_-_To_The_Sky_presentation_\(English\).webm -vn -c:a copy audioStreamOnly.ogg

2. Remove the noise using audacity: Select a "noise-only" part of the audio and click on "Effect" - "Noise Removal ..." - "Get Noise Profile". Select the whole audio stream and click on "Effect" - "Noise Removal ..." - "OK:
3. Merge the audio back into the video:

   ffmpeg -i LowNoiseAudioStreamOnly.ogg -i Tijana_Dapčević_-_To_The_Sky_presentation_\(English\).webm -c:a copy -c:v copy MERGED.webm
